Hey @j95. I can see you're in a very angry place right now, and from your responses I'm concerned that being on the forum right now isn't helping to alleviate that. If you don't want to talk about it here, can you call your other support services?
I'm also worried by your statements about wanting to be dead. Are you safe right now? Do you need to start actioning your safety plan?

Hi @shynessoverload, super stoked to hear you went to see a GP to get a referral and discuss medication options. Taking that first step towards getting help is HUGE so pat yourself on the back for getting it done!
A quick note - I've edited out the name and dose info of your medication as it's against our guidelines.

I star in a really funny show on Netflix that *just* finished it's second season.
Do you know this TV show theme song? "A long time ago, we used to be friends but I haven't talked to you lately at all."

Hiya @anonymousgirl101. This is pretty embarrassing, but I wrote my car off the SAME DAY I got my P's. I was looking at my gear stick trying to turn right at the lights and just plowed straight into a guy coming straight in the opposite direction. I was devastated that I wrecked my car and it took a really long time to get my confidence back up on the road. However, I personally learn the best through mistakes, and you can bet I was the safest right-hand turner in the world after that! I reckon you'll be the same now with not checking your phone or messing with the music.

Hey @MemphisBelle, I'm really sorry people have called you that horrible word. That is messed up and not ok. How do you react when this happens, do you say anything to the person?
Trying to figure out who you are and feeling comfortable with your identity can be a long process, and it can be a dynamic one. How we act can vary wildly depending on the situation and the people around us, and it doesn't necessarily mean we're changing who we are as a person. I'm really quiet around people I've just met, but at home I let loose and can be as silly and goofy as I want. With some friends I'm the one who listens and gives advice, with other friends I make a lot of jokes. Personalities are complex, and that's ok!
I know meeting strangers isn't your favourite, but have you thought about joining an autism support group? You are definitely not the only person to have felt these challenges, and it might help to chat with others who do understand exactly what it's like and can maybe share how it worked with them.

Hiya @Jen10. When you're in the middle of a situation like this, it can feel like you're all alone so I'm really glad you found our forum and that @rose94's post helped you.
It can take a long time to heal and recover from abuse and partner violence. It's not just the bruises and the physical injuries, but the emotional trauma that comes with being betrayed so grievously by someone you loved and trusted. It can really help to have a professional on your side to help you through those feelings. I notice you're not based in Australia, so the 1800 RESPECT line I provided above might not work for you, but I'd encourage you to look up similar services in your area and get in touch with them.

Hi there @Cloverjade! It sounds like this guy is a great friend, and it can be nice to have some good friends around to listen and support you when you're going through a tough time. Here's how I would think about it: if the roles were reversed, would you want him to still come to you and talk about what was going on, even if you were busy with school? Will it make you feel a bit better to talk about it? Maybe have a think about what you want from the conversation and be up front about it - whether it's just to have him listen, or make suggestions, or cheer you up. It's not a sign of weakness to talk about mental wellbeing or self-harm and seek support, it actually takes a lot of strength and courage. I think those are pretty great qualities to have in a romantic partner, if it goes down that path.
I just want to leave some self-harm resources here for you too, including support service info and self-help techniques. You can find them here.

I LOVE ALL OF THIS!
I wanted to go to Sovereign Hill when I was passing through Ballarat last December so, so badly but it was just too expensive. I did end up going to see the Romancing the Skull exhibit at the Ballarat Art Gallery, not sure if it's still on but it was incredible.
Did you do the dress-ups and gold panning and all the fun ye olde activities @redhead?

Hey @TyTy, I know how you feel. Sometimes I see people talk about "first world problems" or try to cheer up others by pointing out that others are worse off, and even though they have good intentions it's so not helpful. Your feelings are valid, and the pain they cause you is no less real just because you have a nice home. Depression, anxiety, feeling crappy - these things don't discriminate, they can affect anyone regardless of their situation.
What I'm hearing in your posts is a lot of negative self talk, basically being really hard on yourself. When you think that way often and long enough, it can become a habit. Your brain learns to think that way, and to break out of it you have to teach it to think a new way which can take time and practice. I encourage you to read some of the articles in our self-talk and self-awareness section for more info on what self-talk is and how to start turning it around. We have some good threads here on the forum to start practising positive self-talk, like Three Positives of Today and What Are You Proud Of? You've already taken a big step by being honest here about how you're feeling, so I hope you can take that next step and keep going!
Having some professional support can also help with breaking the cycle of negative thoughts. I notice you're not based in Australia, so I'm not exactly sure how it works where you are but usually you can go see a GP and they'll give you a referral for counselling. There may also be some local phone or internet based support services you can use, if you search around a bit.

@lokifish can I just say I am in awe of how connected you are with your thoughts and emotions. You know what helps and you are using the tools you have, which can be really tough to do when your brain is circling around a harmful thought. Identifying the urge, reaching out for support here, channeling your focus into other activities, re-framing thoughts - man, this is impressive stuff! I don't say this to put pressure on you not to self-harm, but just to acknowledge how far you've come and how sophisticated your management techniques are. I hope you can take a moment to really appreciate that and pat yourself on the back.

Hey @trashconverters, I know how you feel with the heat. Once it reaches 35-ish my brain cannot function at all, I'm basically just a sentient blob. I put my mattress in the lounge room in front of the air con and slept there the past few nights. Is that an option for you? I also have a spray bottle with cool water next to me, and give myself a spray every now and then to cool down. Cold showers are a nice short-term relief, sometimes I take 3 or 4 quick ones per day. Ice packs are also good, but they can be a bit *too* cold so wrap them in a teatowel and just rest one on your shoulders. Another trick I use is to wet a teatowel, wring it out a bit and put it in the freezer for an hour. Then I have a cold towel for my forehead. When I had a pedestal fan in my room, I put a bucket of ice water in front of it, so the fan would blow cool air rather than just moving hot air around. There are some interesting "hillbilly air con" ideas online, but I don't recommend anything where water could drip onto electrical items. I hope some of these things can bring temporary relief from the heat!
