Hi @batman101 how are you feeling today? Its completely understandable that you’re feeling sad and a little down, even 6 months after the breakup. And I admire your strength in talking about this, sometimes just letting it out and telling others how you feel can help to understand your own emotions and even help to feel like a bit of the burden has been lifted! I’m glad that you’ve tried exercising and talking to others as well. I can relate to feeling like a burden when speaking to family and friends about how I feel, but in my experience, talking about it and getting some clarity from others can make me feel so much more positive! Even writing down your thoughts in a diary each day or writing down things you’re grateful for at the end of each week can shed some light on stressful situations. Have you given these a try? My thoughts are with you!

Hey @gisforgreatgoodness ! I can see there is a lot going on that might be making things feel a little overwhelming! I can totally relate to feeling worked up about uni notes! In my experience, trying things like writing out a few goals at the start of each week, or making a list of tasks to do each day in a manageable timeframe has been really helpful. If you're feeling up to it, it might also be helpful for you I dont think you're overreacting at all! It's okay to sometimes feel a little pressure. Do you have any group work or group assignments coming up? I feel like this is a great opportunity to meet and connect with people, especially because you have the shared interest of being in the same course. Let us know how you go

I recently learned about a term named 'Voluntary Simplicity', which basically means to live a more simple life. I found this lifestyle really interesting, because living a more 'simple' life is much more beneficial for the environment! It doesn't mean to throw away everything away and live with few things, but it just reinforces the idea of living more sustainability and having a balanced lifestyle. This could include things like being more sustainably mindful (recycling and reusing), conserving energy and taking shorter showers. Although it might leave only a small imprint on helping the environment, its something that is fairly easy to adapt to, even just in moderate amounts Definitely something I would like to continue working toward this year!

I love this theme!! @mrmusic How long does chocolate last in your house? (Be honest!) Honestly, not even a day hahah. My family loves chocolate, usually by the time I find out we had any it's already been eaten What is the strangest/funniest thing you've ever done with chocolate? Hmmm, when I was younger I used to put chocolate in the microwave and dip a whole bunch of foods in the melted chocolate to see what it tasted like! What's your favourite chocolate inspired recipe? It's tough to choose just one! But I would probably have to go with Nutella crepes. Have you ever eaten from a chocolate fountain? Yes! Marshmallows, banana's and strawberries dipped in the fountain are amazing. Favourite brand/type of chocolate? My all time favourite chocolate is the Cadbury Snack block! Or maltesers

Hi @purplesummer ! I can definitely understand how you might feel a little uncertain about how to bring this up, its a tough thing to talk about! But I think it's amazing that you've had the courage to get some help If you're feeling up to it, something like what @scared01 mentioned seems like a great way to ease into it. Have you seen your psychiatrist for long? Sometimes speaking about it with someone you don't know very well can be difficult! But I think when you feel ready and comfortable it might come more easily. Practicing alone in a safe place might help too, but it is completely fine if you dont feel like doing this

What is your favourite part of being a builder? I love that I am able to practice some skills I've learned, such as active listening and understanding boundaries, to helping others. I've always been passionate about both mental and physical health, and being able to share and practice this in an inclusive and compassionate community is really empowering for me

Hey @Blurryphaced! It sounds like the yelling or swearing is making you feel accountable for their anger, which you aren't! I can definitely see how this might make it difficult to cope on a daily basis, especially if it triggers your anxiety. Have you tried talking to your family when they aren't shouting about how it feels when they get angry? If you're feeling up to talking to them about feeling anxious or accountable, they might have a reason to let off some steam in a different way. Maybe even getting some distance like going for a walk or stepping outside for some fresh air might help in the moment. I hope everything is going okay for you tonight and that you're safe

Hey everyone, it's the start of a new month...time for some new questions! 1. Would you rather be able to breathe underwater or fly through air? 2. Whats your favourite food to order at a restaurant? 3. Are you a morning or night person? 4. If you had unlimited storage space of one thing, what would it be? 5. Who is your favourite superhero and why?

Hi @BunnyWalks, I can relate to being on the internet more than I'd like to as well! Do you have any other ways that you practice your creative side? I can understand how invasive it may feel when personal information is being revealed or when being given a hard time online, It's amazing that you stepped back and put your safety first ! If you haven't already, maybe reporting the account or the doxing posts to the online platform that it occurred on could help prevent it from happening again, and also so that you can feel more safe online

'Life will give whatever experience is most necessary for the evolution of our consciousness' ^This quote has been my favourite for a few years because it reminds me that although some things can be out of our control (good or bad), we should always embrace what we can take away or learn from it, and that's how we can grow as a person

Hey Guys! Thanks for the warm welcome How did you first hear about ReachOut and when did you decide to get involved on the forums as a user? I heard about ReachOut a few years ago in high school, but late last year my friend informed me about the forums and encouraged me to become a builder. What's your favourite post thread? So far, I've enjoyed the '1000001 coping strategies and distractions' the most! I feel as though this thread is not only interesting and stimulating, but its also quite helpful when making suggestions to other users. Why did you decide to become a Builder? I enjoy helping others and I am passionate about empowering young people, so becoming a Builder seemed like something that would really interest me and align with my values! I also wanted to gain some valuable experience and learn some new mentoring skills while helping others at the same time What do you do during the day (Study? Work? Hunt ghosts? Fight Crime? Taste cupcakes?)? I also study psychology! However, when I'm not studying, I usually spend my time either reading, watching shows, cleaning or catching up with a few friends over coffee or dessert! I also love to travel, even just a day trip exploring a new beach is something I like to do over the summer holidays. Do you have any weird hobbies (Train a rubber duck army? Teach lizards Spanish? Learn how to the master the recorder?)? Is it weird to say that I enjoy cleaning? haha. Sometimes I spend an entire day cleaning out my wardrobe or my car and its super satisfying once its all clean and organised What's you're all time favourite TV show? Brooklyn Nine-Nine or The Office!

@Eden1717 I think its amazing that you're trying different things to keep distracted! Although, I understand how frustrating it may feel that most things don't seem to be helping much. Those nights can be tough! Has anything in the past helped you sleep easier at night that might help you get a better sleep tonight? I have found that listening to relaxing music has helped me to wind down and relax at night. I hope you get a better nights sleep tonight!

Hey @Eden1717, it sounds like a stressful few days, I can understand how overwhelming those thoughts are! Im glad you're safe. Has watching netflix or going outside for a break helped much? Sometimes I find that writing all my thoughts down can help me understand them more. Have you tried this? Maybe writing down some thoughts can help them from playing on your mind. Its okay if you don't feel like trying this, but sometimes writing down positive thoughts too, or writing about things I'm proud of can help when I feel lost. I hope you're doing okay tonight, stay strong!

Awesome idea @Saltwaterdreamtime! A great way to keep motivated. Also congratulations getting fully qualified!!! What is one thing you are looking forward to this week? I'm looking forward to catching up with my friends! They just got back from overseas so I can't wait to hear all their travel stories despite being jealous I didn't go myself hahah What is something thing that will challenge you this week? How will you overcome this? I think working longer hours than usual will challenge me, a few cups of coffee will keep me going . But besides the short-term coffee remedy...having a good nights sleep and eating healthily could help me overcome being tired this week! Looking back on the previous week is there something you might do different this week? Why? Definitely going to sleep earlier!! Last week I went to bed quite late a few nights and it somehow made me feel more sluggish during the day because I would sleep in more, and I wasnt able to get much done during the morning/early afternoon. This week I want to try to get to sleep earlier so that I can be more productive during the day.
