@Sunnybear I have heard that it can become very addicting, hence I'm scared to try it does the name accurately reflect the purpose of the game - i.e. to help animals cross the road?! Haha!

@Sunnybear I've gone through the same thing re: study and home life. It can be difficult. However, I'm glad you've got a strategy in place so that you can "switch off". I've never played Animal Crossing before but my friends are obsessed!!!

@Hannah-RO I got involved in a lot of community initiatives and groups so absolutely not anything that I regret! Just a bit tough sometimes to juggle it all. What about you? - what kind of activities did you get involved in? I think walking in the morning works best for me... I kind of have to force myself straight away otherwise I would probably come up with excuses later on

1. Are there areas of your life that are starting to blur into one another? Does this work for you or is it impacting your wellbeing in any way? This is definitely an issue I have at the moment. Silly me, at the beginning of lockdown I was so bored so signed up to heaps of different activities and opportunities. I love them but now I just feel overwhelmed and stressed! I hardly have anytime for myself. When I do try to "switch off", my mind still races with thoughts. 2. Can you think of any ways of creating boundaries between R and R, and other committments? e.g. getting changed after school, logging out of your email at a certain time etc.? First thing I could do is to have a shower first thing in the morning and get ready for the day. Second, I always make an excuse that I don't have time to go for a walk because I have so much work to do. I need to change this habit because 1) physical activity will improve my mood and calm me down 2) I will probably be more productive if I come back to work later with a clear and positive mindset

Spent so much time talking about myself that I forgot to add a fun fact @ecla34ok get this - in Switzerland, it is illegal to own 1 guinea pig! You're allowed to own 2 or more but not 1! Sounds odd at first but I did a bit more research and found out that it is because guinea pigs are social animals so this law ensures that they are not neglected :')

Something that really interests me is theatre. I'm a crazy drama kid at heart Every aspect of the theatre fascinates me - from all the things you can see like the acting and lighting, all the way to the tech, management and direction of a show behind the scenes. I don't think a lot of people realise how purposeful every action is! I need to spend more time reading plays. I used to do this a lot in the past but uni has gotten a little in the way. My goal is to reacquaint myself with Shakespeare and hopefully be able to recite some monologues like I used to. @marlee cool! I love learning about anatomy as well. I don't study it at uni but I could listen to people tell me about it all day!!! Maybe I should change my course

Great to hear everyone's interests. I am particularly fascinated with @Tay100 's motivation to learn AUSLAN! That sounds incredible and I definitely think it's a skill that we need more of. May seem strange or boring to some, but I love organising!! Netflix just released a new show on Netflix called The Home Edit which I watch religiously

1. What's something that doesn't take a lot of time, but that makes you feel better? I'm lucky to have a window right by my bed so as soon as I wake up, the first thing I do is open the blinds without even having to get up - this makes me feel better because it gives my brain a chance to properly wake up and process thoughts. Showering in the morning also helps. @Tay100 I do the same thing! I watch YT but instead of tea, I drink coffee 2. Is there a small change you can make this week (or even right now!), feel free to share any ideas in this thread! @ecla34 thanks for starting this thread. It's motivated me to put my clothes away!!! I've been avoiding this for days Another small change I will make this week is to go outside! I tend to spend a lot of time studying indoors. I will feel better if I just move my laptop and books into the sunshine

The Search by NF is a song I only recently discovered. It was actually recommended to me by a medical professional and has some very powerful lyrics in it. The excerpt below (at 2:46) encourages us to engage in positive self-talk and acceptance If you like rap, you'll like this song "The point I'm makin' is the mind is a powerful place And what you feed it can affect you in a powerful way It's pretty cool, right? Yeah, but it's not always safe Just hang with me, this'll only take a moment, okay? Just think about it for a second, if you look at your face Every day when you get up and think you'll never be great You'll never be great, not because you're not, but the hate Will always find a way to cut you up and murder your faith"

@WheresMySquishy Bananagram is so fun! Although the way I like to describe it to people sounds boring - it's like scrabble but you play by yourself and without a board. Confused? It's a race to see who can finish their letters first so the game can sometimes get very competitive. Your sister doesn't like bananas?! Impossible! Try freezing one - they taste like ice-cream

1. How did you first hear about ReachOut and when did you decide to get involved on the forums as a user? I first heard about ReachOut at when studying mental health in PDHPE at school. I have known of the organisation for years but didn’t know they ran these forums until recently when I signed up. 2. What's your favourite post thread? I’m still new to the forum so am yet to see many post threads. Those in the ‘Wellbeing: Everyday Life” folder are my favourite so far. 3. Why did you decide to become a Builder? I became a builder because mental health has always been an important issue to me. I found this opportunity as I was researching ways in which I could volunteer or assist others. 4. What do you do during the day (Study? Work? Hunt ghosts? Fight Crime? Taste cupcakes?)? Study. Lots and lots of university study. I also enjoy socialising with my friends, taking my dogs for a walk and going to the beach. 5. Do you have any weird hobbies (Train a rubber duck army? Teach lizards Spanish? Learn how to the master the recorder?)? I am obsessed with Bananagram. If you don’t know what that is, open a new tab now and google it. Better yet, buy it. 6. What's you're all time favourite TV show? This question is on par with “what’s your favourite food(?)" in difficulty. Could never narrow it down to one show but if I had to choose a genre, I would definitely pick comedy. The Office and Friends are just some examples.
