That's ok mate, you don't have to. I mentioned in the other thread maybe trying something in your survival kit that might help. Would you be willing to give that a try?I've gotta sign off now, but if things start to get worse, could you please make sure you hit that emergency link up the top of the page so you have support? Take care mate.

@j95 it's ok to have a bad night. Could you give some of the stuff in your survival kit a go to try to help with how you're feeling?

@j95 Are you ok mate? Did you want to give someone a call or speak to KHL or Beyond Blue? Chatting to someone on the phone might help.

Welcome to Reach Out @Jema Valleys It can be a difficult situation when you'd like to distance yourself from someone you're not getting along with, but also don't want to hurt their feelings. It sounds like you're quite a different person to S and clash in a few different ways. With her following you to the library when you'd like to be alone, have you spoken to S and explained that you'd prefer to go by yourself and read? S may not be noticing the social prompts you're giving her, which indicate you'd like some alone time, so speaking to her directly, but politely may help her understand. You might find the info RO has on ending a friendship helpful when it comes to distancing yourself from S, if you decide to do so. But try to remember that it might be really tough for S if she sees you distancing yourself from her and her feelings may be hurt, so if you do decide to distance yourself from her, letting her know in a compassionate way could help limit how upset it may make her.

Hey @alien4, thanks for keeping us updated on how you're doing. I was really happy to read you had a confidence boost today and that you found some of that fact sheet helpful I've always wished I could play the piano! How long have you been playing for? It's amazing the feeling you get when you play music, hey. I played in 2 bands for about 6 years and miss it so much.

Hey @Tweeks, we definitely don't want you to feel like there's nowhere you can go for support. As @Sophie-RO mentioned the SANE forums will have people the same age who may be experiencing similar things as you at the moment. Beyond Blue is another really great support service who offer help to people of all ages. You can give them a call or chat online. There's definitely support for you out there. We just want to make sure you're able to get the kind which would be best for you.

@j95 sorry to hear your anxiety got so bad this arvo. I'm really impressed that you made the decision to go to the gym instead of doing something that makes you feel worse. Did the gym help a bit? I know for me it can be a really good release of stresses and anger I might have built up,

Congrats on passing the audition and landing a role @drhalloween. It might not be the one you had you heart set on, but it's still awesome you were chosen to be a part of the production! I think what @Kit said about asking the director for some feedback would be really constructive. They might be able to let you know what stood out about your audition and also what else they were lookng for. if you're not comfortable speaking face to face with the director about it, then maybe shoot them an email. I think it would also show them that you want to continue to learn more and add different elements to your craft.

Glad you and your bro are back on better terms. And the fact he shared cheeseballs with you is an added bonus! Sorry to hear you're feeling overwhelmed at the moment. It sucks when things pile up and you feel there's no way to get them all done. But you can get through them all! You just have to chip away bit by bit. I know it sounds lame, but I find it helps if I make a list and cross off each thing as I do it, just so I'm proving to myself that I've done something and I see the list start to get smaller. Are there a couple of things that are a bit smaller that you could start with to get the ball rolling?

Hey @cslrah, I'm really sorry to hear about this situation you're in. It can be a really hard and complicated time, especially since your friend has taken things you've said out of context to put you in a bad position. I hope you get the chance to have a proper talk with B and explain what actually happened, so that she understands what actually happened and where you're coming from. Even though you don't go to the same school, are you able to meet up somewhere before the festival so you can talk? I hope things work out for you. Please let us know how it goes.

Hey @rmac. Welcome to Reach Out. I'm really sorry to hear you've been having such a tough time after your recent break-up. I understand how tough it can be when a relationship ends. I was glad to read you've spoken to your mum about how you're feeling, because having the support from people close to you during a break up really helps. I know it sounds cliche, but there's no magic way to turn off the feelings youre having right now, but in time you'll start to feel better. This fact sheet has some really helpful info and tips to help you cope and maybe feel a bit better. And you can also always come on RO for a chat and to let us know how you're doing.

Hi @Kristy21, thanks for sharing all of this. I know it can be hard to openly talk about such personal things and you showed a lot of courage doing so.
It sounds like you have a lot going on in your life right now and don't feel like you have people around you for support. I know how frustrating it can be living with parents when you're in your 20s. It's sometimes hard for them to view their kids as adults no matter how old they get. And because you're an adult who can decide things for themselves, it can create conflicts when you're in close quarters to parents. Do you have a close friend or other family member you could maybe stay with once a week or so? Giving you a bit of a break if you're getting a bit stressed at home?
Juggling uni and work can be really tough and things can seem quite overwhelming at times. I'm not sure what your classes or work shifts are like, but it's important to take some time out and relax every now and then, so you shouldn't feel bad about taking some 'you' time when you need it. If you're feeling a bit too overburdened with uni, could you speak to a uni counsellor or student services to talk about ways to help?
I'm not sure if you've done so before, but have you contacted support services such as Lifeline, KHL or eheadspace? They're all completely anonymous and have mental health professionals on hand you can speak or webchat with.
Please keep us updated on how you're going and let us know if you have any questions about the support services I mentioned.

Hey @PeanutJelly148, I'm really sorry to hear that one of your friends has betrayed your confidence. It can really hurt when someone tells others a secret you asked them to keep.
I totally agree with @N1ghtW1ng about this being your decision. It certainly can be a hard one to make, but the only person who can make it is you. @N1ghtW1ng also suggested speaking to Qlife about coming out which is a great idea. They're such a supportive service and can answer a lot of questions you might have. You can check out contact deets and some other services available to you to here. RO also has some really helpful info about coming out here which you might like to check out too.
Please let us know how you go and if you have any questions, shout out.

@j95 Man, I'm so proud of you for that last post. Through your own strength and legend-ness you brought yourself out of the negative thinking and have again realised just how awesome you are. You really do offer so much to so many people and I'm glad you can see that too!
Please don't ever feel like you can't open up on here about how you're feeling. I know I said this in the Short Sads thread too, but, no matter how big or small something is, you can always come to RO for support.

@j95 You're definitely not a pain at all! RO exists so that people can talk about how they're feeling and get support whenever they need it. It doesn't matter how big or small the thing is they want to talk about.
I think opening up about how we feel takes a lot of strength, and doing it on RO can give others that strength too, because it shows that it's a safe, supportive place.

@j95 Hey mate, I'm really sorry to see you had a bad night last night. How are you doing today?
Getting upset or emotional about things doesn't make you a sook. If something's affecting you, it's totally fine to cry or get angry. I know sometimes it can be frustrating when a certain situation gets to us a bit more than we may think it should, but your emotions help you process it. Pushing down feelings can have a really bad effect on people down the track.
Please don't ever feel like you're not allowed to be emotional and vent to us here on RO, we're here to listen and offer you support no matter how you're feeling.
