How can venting effect other people? What can we do to be more mindful of others when venting? I think it really depends on what you're venting on? Like I don't mind if my friends vent to me about things like school or work cause I know what that's like and I can understand them. If it's something more serious than i would be more mindful about who I vent to and whether they would be able to really carry the burden of that. We can probably be more mindful just by thinking about whether it's a subject that they can relate to and we can bond with over together cause I know my friends and I tend to do that XD

Hey @GraceInSpace93 it really does suck when employers don't care about their employees mental health and I bet it happens a lot with young people cause we usually hold casual jobs that are seen as 'dispensable'. I totally agree with @Mona-RO in that you can try applying for jobs that don't deal with a lot of customers or isn't as high energy like tutoring or doing chores for someone who can't do it themselves? There's probably a bunch of jobs out there that aren't as common I would really recommend looking on your university website cause I know my university has a page where they post jobs and I found a lot of people looking for babysitters and tutors. I hope that kinda helps :)

It sounds like their main concern is your safety which is pretty common for all parents and understandable, but I get that it can come off as annoying especially when you're 18 and basically an adult. Usually I tell my parents when I go out that I'm going with a group of people so they know that I won't be alone which helps a bit and sometimes if they're really worried I would say who is going with me, usually people that they've met before so they know I'm not going out any 'dodgy' people. I don't know if any of that will help with your parents but just a couple of ideas :)

What are some positive ways to celebrate friendship and companionship, whether romantic or otherwise? Well maybe putting mroe emphasis on something like friendship day? I've seen something on facebook about friendship day in which they post a video for you about your most important friends? This might not be the greatest way to celebrate but its a start :p

I see a recurring theme is extending it from just romantic relationships to pretty much all relationships which I really love cause I would say they're just as important as romantic relationships

THe biggest pressure for some people would probably be getting a date to make sure you're not 'lonely' (whichisaloadofcrap)

@N1ghtW1ng HAHAH yessss the fact that the man has to pay for everything is bs and an idea that belongs in the 50s but I think that notion is not exclusive to Vday but also things like first dates and that a guy has to pay for a first date which is baloney because its not that hard to split a meal seriously. I personally thought the notion of men having to pay everything was really old school though like I know plenty of women who pay for things just as much as men

@N1ghtW1ng @Stealth_ninja Yeah those kind of school programs can really feel excluding if you're not participating in them but I guess they have good intentions in that it's something that you can be silly about with your friends if you're not in a relationship

Also I think the discussion about the highlighting of gender roles on V-day is interesting because I know in Eastern countries (China, South Korea, Japan) they have something called White Day which is on March 14th where the girl is the one giving gifts to guys

What do you think are some positives and negatives from Valentines Day? I think we lowkey answered this in our last question ahahhahaha so I'm gonna do the negatives side this round since I think I kinda did some of the positives on the last question. Honestly when Valentines Day comes around theres always posts and memes going around saying how single people are gonna be lonely and sit around drinking alcohol by themselves which is perceived as 'depressing' which I think is a load of bs and shows how much emphasis society puts on romantic relationships. I think it's ridiculous that our society makes it seem as if single people are 'lost' or 'incomplete' without a partner when really we're all complete people. It also kinda ties back in to why we even have Valentines day in the first place? Like couples already have their anniversary to celebrate whats the point of Valentines?

@N1ghtW1ng yeah I totally get what you're saying and it does seem like so many couples just do it to show off how much they 'love' their partner by buying them the most expensive gift they can but I also think not everyone is like that like I know couples who make diy things and don't spend any money at all? I don't know how to explain it but I think it's just a bit of fun for some couples? But I get what you're saying in that sometimes it seems very phony

Also I have a friend who works at a call centre for a flower business and she told me that today a guy spent 1k on buying blue roses for his partner which sounds insane to me and could probably have been used on something better

Thank you!! I'm actually going to try bullet journaling this year to see if it will increase my productivity, Last year I used a journal which helped me plan what subjects I would study each day, but that broke down during exam period when I had to study for all my exmas so I'm hoping this year I will actually set out specific times to study each subject :) And thank you for reminding me about referencing that totally slipped my mind :)

Hey @navyblue I just wanna say I'm so sorry for what has happened when it's supposed to be such a relaxed period. You should definitely not be so hard on yourself for this I just finished high school as well and a lot people do stupid things that they end up regretting later. I think you should tell at least one of your friends completely what happened during schoolies and I think if they were truly your friends they would help and support you.

Hi Niceguy36 :) I get what you mean it is pretty hard to find people that you can really connect with over the internet. I'm gonna guess that by mainstream meeting sites (and correct me if I'm wrong) you're talking bout dating sites which is where a lot of people go to get hook ups but there are definitely people on there who are looking for more but I'm guessing they're not easily found. I would go for sites like instagram and tumblr so more traditional social media websites. I have found a couple of people who I get along really well with online. Even on online forums like these you could probably find people like you :)

Hey Niz I totally get where your coming from your family really sets you up for how you interact with other people. My family doesnt particularly talk about their feelings either which is why I don't really like to tell others when I feel particularly worried or stressed. I think it's really good that you have really close friends who are supporting you and willing to help you out with these problems and it may take a bit of time before you can fully open up to them but if you take small steps at a time then slowly you can tell them how you're feeling :)
