Dear friends, I have been quite absent over the past few months (mental health, I know you understand!) but I wanted to pop in and let you all know that since I'm now 26, I'm too old for the forums :( I don't feel too old, and if I had my way, I'd stick around for much longer. The forums have been such an important part of my life for several years. I have met some of my closest friends, and the most supportive humans here. My life is better because of all of you - whether we've spoken lots or not at all. Every hi-five brightened my day, every mention made me smile. The community we have here is amazing! Thank you especially to @scared01 @DruidChild @lokifish and @JanaG . And many others - if I named you all I'd be here forever! Much love always from me to you!!

1. Went to the ballet for the first time yesterday. 2. My housemate stopped playing play station to say good morning to me and give me a hug 3. Wrote most of an essay that's due tomorrow. 4. Got to do a full day of work yesterday. 5. Started reading When the Night Comes 6. Called my dad the other night and he was supportive as always. 7. Tea and toast for breakfast this morning :)

Hey @xXLexi_Lou122Xx I just saw the news that there's a psych at your school and you spoke to the chaplain - that's awesome!! :D I haven't had a canular so I can't offer any thoughts on what they're like, sorry. Hey @Bento first of all I want to say well done for still going to VidCon when you were feeling so anxious. That's really, really brave. It sounds like your anxiety levels have been quite heightened and I'm wondering if focusing on something else might help, so how was the Vidcon opening night? :)

Hey @scared01 I'm so glad to hear that you managed to get a bit of sleep last night I'm sorry that you got some heavy news at the appointment :( It sounds like it'll take some time to adjust, and I hope you're able to give yourself that time, and to grieve if you need to. 1. I'm glad that I've learnt about plurality from a thread on the forums. I want to read up on it asap. 2. Had avocado on toast for breakfast this morning. 3. Have been very productive and sent some emails and completed life admin this morning. 4. Started watched season 4 of Crazy Ex Girlfriend 5. The sun is shining :) 6. Did some creative writing last night 7. Have been journalling more regularly. 8. Listened to some cool podcasts at work yesterday. 9. My housemate and I watched the Black List last night and she said, "I love watching things with you. Don't ever change." 10. Saw my grandma on the weekend. :)

Tell us about a time you turned a negative into a positive? I try to do this regularly, although I struggle with it quite a bit. For example, a negative I'm feeling at the moment is uncertainty about whether moving back in with my parents is the right decision or not. I'm really going to miss my best friend and I'm worried that we won't be as close when we're not living together. However, I'm looking at it as a strength: I've learnt that I can live out of home, and that I am an acceptable housemate. Plus, we've planned regular catch ups for when we move out, and I know I'll have more time to study when we're not living together. What positive things have you learnt about yourself through difficult times? I think I'm more resilient than I ever would have expected. I can be self-compassionate and gentle with me, and I can put aside what other people have said to me or believe about me in favour of what I feel/know to be true. I've learnt that I have a variety of coping strategies, and can always try something new to get through. I find it helpful to write fictional stories about stuff I've experienced - creative expression can be a great way to process.

Animals can be so helpful for our mental health, and I'm glad that you can find some solace in them and I think it's understandable that you'd want to give that love you feel to another animal. Hey @queenP wishing you all the best for moving out with your sister! It definitely is a big step, and I believe in you! I moved out of home for the first time this year, and managing my mental health has been the biggest challenge. I think the number one thing is to be open with the person you're living with (in your case, your sister) about where you're at and things that might trigger/do trigger you. When I haven't discussed my highs and lows with my housemate, my sense of isolation skyrockets and it impacts everything else. Making lists also tends to help me with organisation e.g. I'll keep a shopping list with me on my phone, and some of those reusable tote bags with me so that I can pop into the grocery store whenever I might need to. I hope this helps :)

1. Just submitted an application I've been avoiding - hopefully I can finally start placement soon once I hear back. 2. Worked on an assignment this afternoon. 3. Had a nap. 4. Tried the mac & cheese balls at Lord of the Fries and they were SO good. 5. Decided on the next book I want to purchase and I have just enough credit on a voucher to get it. 6.
