@leahmay perhaps Headspace or Kidshelpline would be good to talk to, they have phone and also webchat as well. Kidshelpline is usually not much of a wait at this time of the night. do you think youd be willing to talk to a counsellor?

hey @Rattata finding a job can be so hard especially once you turn a certain age plus covid has made it much harder perhaps you could apply for a centrelink payment? at least you could have some money while looking, and often job search places can be helpful. sometimes they even help pay for courses to get you into a workforce. maybe doing some volunteer work could help you gain some more work experience as well.

hey @PotatoNerd and welcome Year 12 can be really hard. I would encourage you to speak to your teachers if your feeling overwhelmed with the amount of work or struggling to understand anything your learning i wonder if you would join in or even make your own study group? perhaps having each other to motivate and learn together and get through the year would be helpful as well

hey @Twilight and welcome @happyandhealthy has provided some great advice i would also encourage you to talk to a trusted teacher or a year advisor if you have one about your exam stresses as they can be quite helpful too. Please know you can always talk here too and to Kids helpline or Headspace too if things get to unmangeable

hey @Rattata i also have quite awful sleeping patterns which have turned into chronic insomnia now but ive tried lots of things and am happy to share with you! some ideas to try: -try to exercise in the late afternoon-i found if i done some exercise even a walk it helped to reduce some pent up energy before going to bed -trying a sleep or relaxation guided meditation -i found lavender essential oil in a diffuser and placed on certain parts of my skin (they are called trigger points for sleep) helped me to relax quite abit -making sure youve done any chores or homework that needs to be done is finished. for me if i know something is sitting there waiting to be done i cant really sleep -i know many people say to stay away from your device but ive found playing card games like solitaire or word search to be helpful as i start to tire out hope this might help abit! i can think of other tips too but i dont want to overwhelm you

hi @EchoO and welcome well done for reaching out i have experienced debilitating anxiety around medical issues as well and it can be really tricky to manage. i remember i couldnt even think about going otherwise id have a panic attack. I actually needed glasses myself it took me ages to be able to go there. my optometrist is a mall so what i done was deliberatly going to the mall and just walking past the shop. didnt go in but just getting comfortable with the idea of walking past it then gradually standing near the shop, then i walked in to just browse and eventually made an appiontment to go. can i ask why you get anxious or what sorts of things you think? perhaps we can help you work through your thoughts to help you work through your anxiety. I would also suggest reaching out to Kidshelpline you can talk to them online and anonymously if you like. it might be a good starting point as well.

that was really nice of you @xXLexi_Lou122Xx sitting with someone who is alone is lovely @Hannah-RO i often try and give up my seat for others if i possibly can esp elderly or parents with young kids or someone with an injury or if theyve been waiting for a while in the waitng room and look like they could use a chiar more then i do

hey @Lost_Space_Explorer5 soryr to hear about what your experiencing. I experience health anxiety but a little different to yours. I wondered if youd consider speaking to a psychologist about this? even a kidshelpline or headspace counsellor online just to get a feel for it and see how you went there can be many things happening to cause the worry and anxiety. for example some people who worry over symptoms with parents who havent taken them seriously could be stemming from fear that anytime you feel like somethings wrong you wont believed so then spirals. hope that makes sense abit?

hey @Macaria 6 weeks can feel like a long time but i hope it goes quickly for you and you can find ways to pass the time. Im glad you got alot of help too, i hope that you continue to feel supported by friends and family when you need to as well. i remember having a boot for a few weeks and it become quite challanging for some things. maybe we could help you find some activities you could try out to help curb the boredom?
