Hey @xXLexi_Lou122Xx, I'm so sorry you're not able to participate in this research :( Unfortunately the ethics committee that approved the study only agreed to young people aged 16 or older being able to participate. For younger people, committees often want parents to give permission for their young person to be in the study, which we didn't think was feasible for this research. But we definitely value your opinions, and there will be other opportunities for you to have your say, don't worry!

Hey there! I’m Kat from the Research team here at ReachOut HQ. ReachOut is all about being a close online community designed to support you – and we want to get even better at it, so we want to hear from you through our online survey. We’re looking for all different kinds of people to participate in our survey - people who haven’t registered for an account with ReachOut, or haven’t ever posted on the forum, as well as more regular users, community builders and moderators. The survey will give you the chance to share your views on the ReachOut forums, talk about what’s working well or not so well, and share any ideas for the future. The general situation with coronavirus is affecting everyone in the community, so it’s more important than ever that ReachOut understands how we can best meet the needs of our community. And that's what this survey is all about. But your health and wellbeing is number one! If you’re feeling too down or worried, or want to focus your energy on supporting others, that’s totally fine too. As a thank you for participating, you’ll also have the chance to win 1 of 10 $100 vouchers. It’s not a random draw – the best answers to the bonus question will win! The survey is completely anonymous and will take you around 15 minutes to complete, depending on your answers, and you can participate by clicking on the link below. If you have an account and/or have made a post before, you will have received an email invitation to participate – you can follow the link in that email if you’re interested in being part of the study! Click here to get involved! The study is being conducted by the independent research firm Newgate Research. Your responses are completely anonymous and will not be linked to you in any way – they won’t even see your username. Newgate Research’s privacy policy can be viewed here. http://www.newgatecomms.com.au/research/newgate-research-privacy-policy/ Thanks so much for everything you bring to make the ReachOut community what it is. We’re hoping this survey will help us continue to improve the forums in the future. We look forward to your feedback! The ReachOut research and community teams.

Hi guys! I'm Kat from the research team at ReachOut :)
You might have seen that we are doing an online study on forum use. We've had heaps of interest from people who post on the forums, but we also want to hear from people who visit the forums sometimes, but have never made a post.
So, if you come to the forums but never post, we wanna hear from you! We're interested in hearing from lots of different people with different experiences, and you don't need to be going through a tough time at the moment to participate. To see if you meet our criteria to be involved and for more info about the study, check out this super quick survey: https://inspire.au1.qualtrics. com/jfe/form/SV_ 1RLiFtkDISBmxEh
Also - if you are able to participate, you will receive a $100 gift card as a thank you.
Thanks!

Awesome thanks @May_ - those are some great questions that we hope to explore through the evaluation. Maybe for that last question we could open it up to you guys: What things contribute to you all feeling comfortable posting and being part of this community?

Thanks for your feedback @RevzZ! That's a really good point about a feeling of progress. Did you mean progress as an individual, or as a community, or both? I love your ideas about how to personalise your experience of the forums too. I think that's a work in progress, right @Ben-RO? :)

Hey @roseisnotaplant, I can give an example :) Something I'm really interested in is what the benefits of participating in this community are, both for more active members as well as people that just read the threads but don't actually post themselves. For example, does it boost people's sense of wellbeing, does it help them to cope with tough times, does it help them feel more connected, etc. I'd love to hear from you guys about what the main benefits are that you see that come from being part of this community.

Thanks @roseisnotaplant - this is awesome! It sounds like the sense of connection and friendship you feel with others in the community is an important part of what makes the forums a safe space for when you're going through something tough. You mentioned memes and GR's as examples of things that help to build that sense of connection - can you think of any other things that help? Anyone else feel free to jump in too with ideas about what builds that sense of community in an online environment :)

Hey everyone! My name is Kat and I work in the research team here at RO. My job is basically to collect feedback from the people that use our service about:
Their experience of using ReachOut – How do they find it? Do they think it helps them? and
How could we improve the service so it better meets their needs?
This means I’m really keen to hear from people like you, pretty much all of the time, but especially right now, because – SHAMELESS PLUG – it’s Annual Survey time!
What’s in it for me you say? Well I’m glad you asked! ☺
First and foremost, this survey is a chance for you to have your say about the ReachOut experience you want. You’re some of our most active and engaged users, and that makes your opinion super important. The research team work really hard to make sure the feedback you give us is taken on-board and used to make the service even better. In other words by completing the survey – the ReachOut you know and love can be made even more awesome.
As an added bonus, by participating you’ll also be entered into a draw to win 1 of 30 JB HiFI, Coles/Myer or iTunes gift vouchers to the value of $100 – Huzzah!
So please, have your say and participate in the survey by clicking on this link
It will take you about 10-15 minutes to complete and you can do it whenever you want before the 3 rd of July.
I also wanted to let you know that we'd like to do a bit of research about how the forums are going. We'd call this an evaluation and basically it's a way of looking at how the forums have changed over time, what's working well, and what we could do better. I want to know what YOU think we should focus on, so to help me understand that, i'd like to have a bit of a chat about that.
So here's a bunch of questions to get you started.
1. How long have you been a part of the community on RO and how has it changed in the time you've been here?
2. What are the ingredients that make the community a place you want to be a part of? e,g, good support, fun, weird memes.
