Help🥲
Soooo recently I’ve found out that I have no friends at all.. like I mean I have a few friends but most of them are online and I’ve never met them in person…
I have a few friends in real life and one of them mean so much to me… I’m kinda in love with her and want to be more than friends but can’t… that is complicated but whatever we are doing right now seems to be working…
However I want to make more friends but I honestly don’t know how to make them because I’ve never actually made friends before… the only reason why I’m bestfriends with my bestfriend is because she made the first move and asked me to be her friend… since then we have been inseparable… however I wanna have other friends to do I’m not so clingy with her… I mean I’m gonna be super clingy with her cause she’s the girl I love but that’s not what I’m here for…
I guess I’m looking for advice on how to make more in real life friends so I have friends to go places with… so I don’t go by myself and get more lonely then I already feel.
Any advice will be appreciated!!🖤

I know how tought it can be to make friends- it's something I've been experiencing lately too. It's also been especially hard with the pandemic over the last couple of years, since it was harder to meet people in real life so I know exactly what you mean!
My biggest tip would be to get involved in volunteering, a team sport, or some sort of job where you have to work with people. This will give you a chance to network, meet new people and hopefully become friends with them! For example, when I started playing netball, I made so many new friends since it's a team sport and I would see my team every week for training and our game. Doing an activtiy we were all passioante about together helped me bond with them so quickly. Putting yourself in situations like this, can be a really great way to make friends!
I actually have a similar problem 😭 making friends is really hard, idk how ppl do it. However in psychology there are 3 determinants of liking proximity, similarity and reciprocity. So proximity is how close you are physically, ppl tend to be friends with people they have to spend a lot of time with (think class or work). Similarity is just things you have in common, its good to know about these things so you actually have something to talk about lol. And reciprocity, meaning ppl like ppl who like them. Alot of the time ppl are happy to be friends with someone who made the first move simply because they made the first move.
My advice would be to try looking for friend in the place you work or where you go to school because then you already have something in common, your environment. Asking for help with work is a good way to initiate the relationship!!!
Hope this helps lmao
That helps however I don’t go to school and most of the people at work are my friends but only when we are at work
Sorry to hear that you are feeling this way, and thank you for opening up to us about your experience. Have you tried to engage more with your co-workers outside of work hours? For example, are there any hangouts or events that you can try to go to or maybe even find a coworker that you share an interest with and start from there?
Also online friends are still real friends! Do you have anyway of hanging out with them online like playing games together or having a group movie night? Thats how ive maintained some of friendships online ❤️
