Hi there @eden_m01

Totally okay to have those moments of "oh yeah we were gonna do this in the future now that's not happening" as you've put it. Those little occasional moments happen from time to time and come with such a big adjustment to life without another person. I'm so glad to hear that you're hanging in there and you've gotten so much support from our online community.

I hope you're looking after yourself and practicing self-care as you navigate your way through this situation ❤️

Hi @eden_m01,

Thank you for sharing your situation with us. It's not always easy to open up, so wanted to acknowledge the strength it takes to voice how you're feeling. I also want to acknowledge that your reaction is totally valid given the history you have with this person. As @starhlights said, an invaluable lesson you've gained from this experience is coming to terms with how you would like and know you deserve to be treated by a partner in the future. 💛

I also think it's great that you’re connecting with new people and trying to focus on moving forward, even though it’s not always an easy process. Please remember that healing doesn’t have to be perfect, and that it is okay to take things one day at a time. When I'm feeling overwhelmed by life I try to practice self care. Do you think there's anything you can do today to look after yourself? For me, this can look like reading a book to going on a walk. 🌳

I'm sending you strength and my best wishes!

Hi again @eden_m01! 💌

I’m sorry to hear this update, but I really admire your strength in trying to move forward instead of dwelling on it. It’s completely understandable to feel hurt, but it’s so admirable that you’re doing your best to hang in there—it’s the right attitude to have. At the end of the day, you cared deeply about someone and did what you could to show up for them. Regardless of how it ended, you now have a clearer understanding of how you want to be treated and know that you deserve better than this.

I hope you’re taking care of yourself and surrounding yourself with people who truly understand and appreciate you. In this difficult time, practicing self-compassion—whether through small acts of kindness toward yourself, engaging in things that bring you joy, or simply acknowledging your feelings without judgment—can make all the difference.

Be gentle with yourself.
