I noticed we didn't have one of these threads on the new forum yet so I thought I'd start one! 5 things game is a kind of grounding technique whereby you name things that you see, feel, hear and smell as way of connecting to and focusing on the present moment. It's useful because focusing on the present moment can help you take your mind off unpleasant, anxious and negative thoughts. You can easily use this technique away from the computer or in public if you want too (I do it all the time). The formula is as follows...

4 things I can feel
3 things I can hear
2 things I can smell
1 good thing about myself (this is the most important one!)
