Welcome to Reachout - stoked to have you here 💕
Shout out to Twilight - those movies are so iconic. I recently watched the new Bridget Jones and it was so lovely and heartwarming I highly, highly recommend.
I love Beyonce too!! Did you listen to or enjoy Cowboy Carter? Cannot believe she gave us opera on that album - there's nothing that woman cannot do.
How are you finding your counselling diploma? Personally, the further I got with my psychology major the more interesting and engaging the content gets. You also surprise yourself when you find a topic super interesting and it stands out to you - it's a really rewarding feeling.
Looking forward to seeing your contribution!
Hi @formulafrenzy Nice to meet you I haven't done my counselling diploma yet but will soon , I hope you have a great night ✨️

Hi Roselove573, welcome to reach out! I'm glad you joined and it's great to meet you😊
It is such a valuable trait how compassionate you are in loving to help other people! You're going to make a great counsellor one day. I'm the same and I have a passion for helping people and their mental health, I'm studying psychology at uni and it is so incredibly interesting.
Movies are great too! Love any rom-com honestly😂
Welcome again to reach out and we all look forward to knowing more about you!
That amazing you are studying psychology at university!
What kind of job would you like to have!

I really want to work with children/youths in a clinical setting in the future. Is there a certain speciality/area you want to work in with counselling? 😀

Welcome to ReachOut! We're so thrilled to have you with us.
I love that you love helping people, as do I! I just finished up a Bachelors in Psychology and Counselling - best of luck with your studies in counselling!
I also recently watched Twilight for the first time, literally finished it 3 weeks ago, and I am so obsessed. I cannot believe the ending to Breaking Dawn pt. 2!!! 😱 I'm so glad I can talk about it here because I still can't get over it haha
1. My favourite song is How You Remind Me by Nickelback
2. My favourite movie is probably Call Me By Your Name
3. I love travelling to different and cool places in my state, as you don't need to get on a plane to have a nice holiday ☺️
Hi @Green_Ghost I heard you finished counselling and psychology course very proud of you, can you please tell me if it was hard or not to give heads up because would like here from you about it
Well done kind regards Roselove573
Hi @Roselove573
I can't speak for the diploma, as I completed a Bachelors which is a step up from a diploma, but I would say that counselling is a very subjective study experience for each person. I found some aspects/areas of it very challenging, and a lot of the assignments were very up for interpretation (lots of applying theories to things, sometimes the theories can be hard to wrap your head around), while other parts were easier. If I had to do it again, I would definitely do more reading up on various famous theorists (e.g., Sigmund Freud, Melanie Klein, Irvin Yalom, Carl Rogers, Carl Jung, etc...) I would suggest doing lots of reading up on some of the different theorists and some different schools of counselling (e.g., psychodynamic, humanistic, cognitive / behavioural, systemic) to get a head start.
However, it was a very enjoyable subject and I look forward to potentially completing my masters at a later date in the next few years, so that I can become qualified to counsel others. I would check information on the course you intend to do and see whether it's accredited by the ACA or PACFA (counselling accreditation bodies). My course wasn't accredited by either the ACA or PACFA at a Bachelors level (Although some other bachelors degrees in Australia are accredited), so I'm going on to do a masters at some point (which is accredited). I do know that some dimplomas are accredited by the ACA...
Best of luck 🙂
@Green_Ghost thanks for telling your experience!
You must have work hard to do the courses so well done,
I hope you get a good life and future
Let me know anything you want to share on reachout website!
