Pet stories!

After our wonderful GR tonight on pets, there is a fair few users who are interested in hearing some stories about funny or silly things our pets have done!

Share away!

And don't forget to introduce your pet to the community if you haven't already 😛 If you attach any photos make sure they are within guidelines.

I'll start. For those who don't know, I'm a tradie and work all over the place, sometimes real close to home and sometimes a bit further out. One day I had to work just a street over from my place, my housmate left the gate open on his way out (he argues that it was me but you know... it wasn't), so my dogs escaped, went for a nice little walk and guess where they ended up... at my worksite. I'm not sure if they recognised the car, or they just knew where I was, but they found me instead of me having to chase them around the whole neighbourhood or look for them.

I've got a couple:

  • At one house I used to live in, my parents decided to varnish/polish the floor of the kitchen. We had a cat at the time. The room that got varnished was half of a combined kitchen/living room area and there wasn't a door or anything to help block off access, so we'd stacked up some boxes along the boundary as a barrier. The next morning, we woke up to discover little paw prints across the varnish that the cat had left as some artwork for us, without disturbing any of the boxes Smiley Tongue
  • One day when I got home from school the cat was meowing her head off to be fed. We had a box of cat crunchies that was almost empty, so I decided to just pour them into the bowl that was already on the floor. My over-eager cat got in the way, headbutted the inverted box of crunchies, and caused them to pour all over her head. Since it was the end of the box she had crumbs all through her fur.
  • My aunty was looking after my family's dog while we were on holiday, and she already had 2 other dogs. She was taking all 3 dogs for a walk and decided to drive them to a park. The car park was near a bunch of trees and long grass at the top of a cliff area and wasn't somewhere that my dog had been before. As soon as my dog got out of the car she bolted away from my aunty to go and play, but was running full speed towards the edge of the cliff. My aunty was freaking out, but apparently my dog juuuuuust managed to stop in time before the edge then came back as if nothing happened *facepalm*

@Bay52VU those are some great stories! The ones with the cat!

Our puppy Odin is so obsessed with food. But he doesn't eat his food from his bowl until I've said "go" so I will put down his food, go inside and bring out my bird, put him out and give him food, pet Gracie and THEN tell him to go. It's so funny to watch him. When I come back outside, he jumps backwards away from the food. Almost like "look, look I didn't eat any! I'm a good boy! Now eat?" 😛
He's also a jumper and it's hilarious to watch him jump over our other dog Gracie. He's big enough that she kind of fits underneath him, although I'm pretty sure it annoys her 😛

@j95 yay for this thread! It's awesome that your dogs found you, makes life a whole lot easier! 😄
I've got a great story from yesterday morning. Basically, I'm chilling on my bed doing whatever it was I was doing, and the cat comes along and we cuddle. Here she is, trying to get comfortable, and then she lies down and slides down the bed! Her face was one of utter shock as she scrambled to stay on the bed.

Welcome back!
