Reason behind joining reachout.com forums
Hi! I am new to here and I wanted to share my reasons of joining.
- I have been looking for this kind of site and luckily I found ReachOut this morning while browsing in a blog at uni. Before finding this site I have signed up to different social media sites and blogs and ended up deleting them. All I was looking was somewhere I can share my thoughts and experiences with people anonymously.
- I wanted to interact with people and talk about their problems. I love giving advices to people thru sharing my experiences and the stories I heard from my family and friends.
- I am seeking for support and answers about moving on from a break up.
- I wanted to improve my English communication skills in reading and writing (English is not my native langauge). I know that I will be learning a lot of vocabularies and Aussie slangs here.
How about you, what is your reason of joining?

I am rather new here too (a few weeks). Not sure what I was expecting but I really like it here. I don't have many people to talk to in the real world so I guess I like the idea of chatting and sharing my thoughts with others. I haven't quite gotten fully involved yet, I've kinda stayed in the hangout chats (nothing too serious), but I'm glad there is an opportunity to share things with a great community. Esp when I'm not sure where to go. I wasn't sure about an online forum, but it has been enjoyable so far 🙂
Stumbled upon it in September 2014 during an online search. Tossed a few questions at the time and got some thoughtful answers adn caring responses. After that, just stayed participating here and there, supporting others at times, etc - to have participation in an online forum that is lighthearted, informative, and not too risky.
Hey @Autumn
Welcome to ReachOut! Glad to have you on board
Social media isn't for everyone, but there's definitely some very unique spaces that people connect in. We're looking forward to your contributions here - whether these are stories, advice, or fun stuff like your photo a day, favourite phone apps or asking would you rather questions.
As for searching for support and answers about moving on from a break up, we've got you covered! Feel free to create your own thread to chat with us and check out our tips on coping with a break up.
Awesome to hear you're a lingual enthusiast! For learning more vocab and slang, join us for puns here
Hey @Autumn! You've definitely come to the right place, feel free to post if you want some support or advice, or if you have some support of your own. This is a judgement-free zone
This should be a pretty cool thread - it would be interesting to hear what brought people to RO!
Hey @Autumn,
Great to see you posting! I joined the forums a few years ago when I was going through a really difficult time and have stuck around ever since. I've seen many people come and go, but it's always awesome when you see someone come here and find what they're looking for 🙂
P.S. Your English is pretty good. I'm actually rather jealous 😛
I'm glad that you found us, I find that ReachOut is a great place to share your thoughts and experiences with other people, get some help if you need it, and stay anonymous.
Good luck with your English! I know the struggles of learning another language, and immersing yourself in it is the best way to go!
Personally, I can't remember why I joined RO. I remember awhile back when I was bored and I looked through my very first messages and my first message was in a Games thread 😛
I suppose I was also looking for help with my family (really just my brother) but it turned out to be a place where I could really be myself. Full of great people. Plus, I love helping people.
