Struggling with Loneliness

Hello,

 

Over the past 6 months I have become increasingly more lonely which in turn is triggering a state of sadness. I guess I'm on here to see if anyone else has dealt with loneliness and some coping strategies. . . and to chat with people  : )

Hello Taylalh, when I am lonely I will open it p to my friend or listen to my favorite music or do some intense exercise to burst my anger.

Hi @Taylalh! I'm really sorry you've been dealing with loneliness, but it's awesome that you've come here since you're definitely around friends from the start 🙂

I can relate to you, in having felt lonely at times in my life as well, and my best coping strategy was to join a group team or activity, as mentioned - are there any sports or hobbies you're keen on? 
Can I ask why you started feeling lonely, did you experience some changes in your life?

Welcome to ReachOut @Taylalh! Loneliness is so tough and reaching out to people is a big step you've taken by coming on here 🙂 When I'm feeling lonely I try to find activities to do and plan my days because a lack of structure can make me feel worse. What types of things do you enjoy doing?

Hey @Taylalh! I'm sorry to hear you struggling with loneliness but thanks a lot for reaching out to us :). I've dealt with loneliness at various points in my life, especially when moving to a new place or school. As for some coping strategies ... do you have any hobbies? Do you like to play any sports? Perhaps you could join community groups and clubs that share the same interests as you?
