thinking of picking up animation for a hobby..

hi everyone!

exam season is here, and while im supposed to be studying i don't have any healthy breaks for studying... as in sleeping (i oversleep a lot and am trying to stop doing that). so im looking for something new!

ive always been kind of an artist, but i thought of doing animation for a past time might be great!

does anyone know any good animating apps for both beginners and experts, that are also free with no subscriptions at all? i have some experience with digital art, just not so much with animation

thanks!

Hi @rivai. Exam season can get overwhelming so its great that your wanting to take breaks. Animation can be a creative way to take breaks from studying.

I think some apps you could look into is canva. Its free and you can create so many designs on it. Other apps might be Animaker, Pencil2D and Blender. The first two are great for beginners as it is really simple and straightforward to use while Blender might be a little complex, search for YouTube tutorials online to help you get started.

Good luck with any upcoming exams and hope you have fun getting creative!

hey @ru

i checked out every app that you mentioned, and i happened to be most familiar with pencil2d and blender. i remember accidentally downloading blender, but i definitely got intimidated by all the options. im pretty sure they do 3d modelling and all sorts of other stuff that im not very familiar with. pencil 2d was pretty good, but it lacked some options that i wished could be there.

thanks for the recommendations! ill probably delve into blender even more
