End of Holiday Burnout

Oh great schools starts up in a week, not feeling ready for Year 11.

Although I'm happy I quit ensemble, I'm currently concerned on maintaining a school-life balance, 2 tutoring are really draining especially with the commencement of VCE.

just not sure how to stop burning out.

Hi @yeah_it_tahtperson

It sounds like it is the start of a big year for you! It is great that you're conscious of a school-life balance and looking for ways to make this happen in Year 11. That is a really good sign that you'll be able to keep on top of things Smiley Happy

Do you have any self care strategies? When you've felt stressed during the term, is there any way that you have tried to relax? We're happy to provide some suggestions but we thought we might explore it with you first.

Hi @Taylor-RO

to be honest I've never really used any clear self care strategies in order to properly relax. I'd like some suggestions again.

Hey @yeah_it_tahtperson thanks for your honesty!

I thought it might help for me to send self-care threads to inspire some ideas for you. Self-care is such a personal thing - different things rejuvenate different people. When I was learning about self-care for the first time, it helped me to make a big list with categories to match my energy levels.

For example, sometimes I go swimming for self-care - but other times I'm way too tired to do anything, and I need to let my body rest, so I'll have a movie + pizza night. So it all depends on what makes you feel good and relaxed.

The today I practised self-care by a thread is a great place to get suggestions for self-care. This weekly wellbeing on self-care lists the different kinds of self-care + ideas.

It's so good that you're thinking about how to prevent yourself from burning out in year 11! Prioritising fun, rest, and time away from responsibilities is definitely one way to keep burnout at bay!

If you wanna share your ideas or ask any questions about self-care, please send them through!! 😊
