I did read it for a bit so that's helped @Taylor-RO

I have work today and I'm sure it's going to be busy as it was yesterday being a Sunday because usually the weekend isn't as busy but with the spike in cases there are a lot more people. Let's then hope that will keep me distracted today.

I'm more worried for tomorrow as I don't have work, I do have my chem exam so as long as that goes okay I hope nothing happens.

Hi @Red_Flamingo

I think that makes sense - sometimes being busy can keep your mind off things. I saw elsewhere that you are going to read your book soon so I hope that is a helpful distraction for you. It is also totally okay to cry Heart

Hey @Dem--RO

Why is it now once I’m home from work my emotions surface and I feel overwhelmed. I’m not feeling that great now after finishing work and really struggling I just feel like rolling into a ball and crying.

Good to hear that you're booked in to see your GP @Red_Flamingo 😊

Also, just a quick note to let you know that we have needed to edit a few of your posts to help maintain your anonymity online (nothing major, just the odd word here and there) 💜

Hi@Dem--RO

Yeah but they don't do anything. Hopefully when I see my GP next week he will have some recommendations because I can't really find much.

Hi  @Red_Flamingo,

Good to hear that you are making every effort to secure some support for yourself, and I see that you got some support from Blueberries on one of your other posts as well. It's so lovely to see the Community supporting each other 💜

Hi@Courtney-RO

Hope you've had a good day.

My day at work was so busy it was nonstop for the whole shift. The cases here are increasing so there are a lot more people opting in for the Covid at Home program.

I contacted the mental health crisis team if they did psychology services so they don't. I'm not sure what else there might be that I can get into quickly. I just hope I can find something soon.

I'm not feeling 100% tonight I think after finishing work all my emotions can release so that sucks a bit. I'll just try and keep myself safe from self harm. Actually though I haven't really had any suicidal thoughts since I have come home from work at 6 pm so that a positive I guess. Being so busy at work helped distracted me from thinking about it.

Hi@Courtney-RO

It should be fine I guess I'll find out how dumb I am hahaha.

I possibly could I have work, the two exams next week and I'm sure I can find other things to do. I just really like having that bit of support. If I can't then I'll just have to suck it up I try my best.

I'm so glad to hear that your appointment went well @Red_Flamingo, How are you feeling about the review for the cognitive assessment?

I can hear how concerned you are about the possibility of not being able to see anyone, so I was wondering if maybe there is something else you could do instead. Would it help to come up with a plan of things you can do, in the weeks that you're not able to see anyone? Don't forget that you are stronger than you think you are!

Hi@Bre-RO

It was good but next fortnight will the last one with him and we will have the review for the cognitive assessment so that will be good. I don't know what I'm going to do, but he said he might find someone for me between now and the new year. I don't know how I will cope if I can't see anyone face to face. I could barely go one to two week with out seeing my psychologist.

Thank you for that information that is very helpful.

Heya @Red_Flamingo how was your psychologist appointment? I hope it was helpful to talk about how you've been feeling 😌

You asked how you can go one step forward when all you feel is that you're going backwards. I want to acknowledge how valid that question is and let you know that you're not alone in those thoughts.

You might've heard the saying, "healing/recovery isn't linear", and I feel that applies to your question. It can be hard to feel good about steps forward when inside, it feels like things are getting worse instead of better.

In the time we've had the privilege of getting to know you, I've seen your openness to talking about your experiences. Not just with us but with your kids' helpline counsellor, psychologist and other support services. When you're in the thick of it, you might not think that it is a big deal or something worth celebrating, but one way of looking at it is that you wake up and choose to find ways to support yourself every day.

Even though you're tired and drained from feeling sad and worthless - you still show up for yourself, which is hard work. It's okay if it's hard to reflect on your strengths, but I have no doubt one day, you'll look back on this time in your life and feel proud of yourself.

In the meantime, continue putting one foot and front of the other and know it's enough. You are enough! 💓

Yeah she was very helpful I think just talking things over and having someone to list is really valuable. I wish @Courtney-RO I don't feel like I have. How can I be going one step forward when all I feel like is going backwards. Let's just see how the appointment goes this morning.

I'm glad to hear that Kidshelpline has been helpful for you @Red_Flamingo Though I can certainly understand feeling nervous about tomorrow. I just want to say that I think you have done such an amazing job at managing everything so far. Just remember that even one step forward, is a step further than you were before 💜

Hi@Courtney-RO

Sleep really can affect the whole day. Yeah today hasn't been great I've just been talking to Kids Helping to the usual counsellor I talk to so that's been nice. I've just been so overwhelmed by feeling like this all the time. I just wish I could feel something other then sadness and worthless. To also not keep having suicidal or self harm thoughts like I just can't get a break but I'm trying.

I'm a bit nervous to be honest I just hope it goes well and I get something out of it. I just hope he won't be disappointed in me with the self harm and stuff.

Hey @Red_Flamingo It sounds like today has been a really tough one, especially hearing that you had a terrible nights sleep. I know when I don't sleep well, the day seems soo much longer. Is there something that you could do tonight to end the day on a happier note? We have some really great Games threads if you're interested at all 😊

That's such great news that you were able to book an appointment with your psychologist! How are you feeling about it?

Hi @Blake_RO

No, it defiantly hasn't been a distraction today I've been feeling like crap all day my mood is just not good, and it has been showing in my work as I am so tired. I had a terrible night sleep last night as I didn't take my sleeping tablet, I thought I would be able to go without it but that was a mistake so in the end I just got up and took it. Good news though I got a session booked in tomorrow with my psychologist so hopefully that will go well.

I'm sorry you are going through this right now @Red_Flamingo, It all sounds incredibly draining. Is there something nice you can do for yourself tonight to get your mind off things?

We have some really great articles on Self-Care if you are interested in having a read at all. I wonder if it might give you some ideas on things you can do.

Just remember that we're all here for you 💜

It sounds like you're really struggling at the moment and that it's becoming difficult to hold onto hope. It can be incredibly difficult to feel this way for months on end, not to mentioned completely exhausting. We're going to send you an email to check-in, so hang tight and we will talk to you soon ❤️
