Thinking about where to from here

I have a good psychologist but only have about 2-4 sessions left with her and I can't cope with only seeing her ever 4is weeks. It's been 6 weeks since I last saw her and it's got me thinking I really need to see her more regularly. I tried getting on the ndis but the person who was meant to be organising that never really did anything and I'm doubtful I'd be approved.

i do have a terrific case manager who is currently seeing me twice a week because of what's going on in my life but I'm needing specific therapy she just can't provide.

I've recently heard of a new service in my town which offers free face to face trauma type counselling which is the stuff I want to look at right now. I've been thinking I could use the remaining sessions with my psychologist weekly/fortnightly to come up with more focused strategies on coping with my current situation then move to that new service until next year when I can get more sessions with my psychologist.

The new service offers different types of therapy depending on your needs and there's no limit to the frequency and amount of sessions so that's a plus.

I'm wondering if this is a good option for me. Idk. I need something to change or I'll continue to spiral out of control. I'm not coping with my life and I can't cope with my past.

@redheadit's great that you have thought through this and it seems like you are on the right track.

The new service sounds great for you and you would no doubt benefit from it as you want to get help and get better. Plus being free means you have nothing to loose and it's worth a go 🙂

I see my psych every 3 weeks (sometimes 4 but it's not ideal) and find that works for me and allows me to get the most out of the 10 sessions I get per year (I then pay out of pocket for the rest). It's all about finding out what works for you and what you can handle.

Keeping moving forward and its great to see you making progress 🙂

@redhead I think that this new place in towncould be very helpful for you for all of the reasons ypu and ErinsAntics have mentioned 🙂
Its awesome that you are able to recognise what support you need to feel okay! Also so great you are open to finding the support 🙂

@Bee @ErinsAntics I guess it's just up to my psychologist if she'll accept this.
