School and Anxiety

I feel lately unsafe at school as if every time I go, I feel vomiting and nauseous. I haven't vomited in 5 days as I recently had a gastro bug. Every time I go to school the feeling only last up to 9 am so I miss the whole day, and this has gone for around a week now. I still trying to figure out why this happens from the stress of exams I feel this impending doom as I don't know the outcome. I am receiving the help I need with talking to a doctor and getting a referral I am only a Year 9 student who has moved to a senior campus with various other people. I am also doing therapy at school but would like to know why this a recurring feeling as two years ago my parents separated, and I felt horrible. This time around its different because I feel horrible when I miss out on schoolwork, I am going to school tomorrow and in the morning meeting up with the Doctor. If all goes well, I should be at school tomorrow.

Hey there @Soob and welcome to the community. Thank you for sharing your story with us, it sounds like you're going through a very confusing and overwhelming time right now. It's good that you're linked in with your GP and getting some extra support for this, I hope the doctor is able to help you figure out what might be going on.

It could also be related to the amount of stress you're under, as often our mental stress will be felt in our bodies. The fact that your parents separated two years ago could also be a factor, as those sorts of intensely emotional experiences can sometimes take a long time to process. Moving schools can also be an incredibly stressful time, and it might take a while to feel comfortable in the new space. It sounds like you really care about your school work and wanting to do well, so it's understandable that this is causing some turmoil for you.  It's good you've got a therapist, I hope you're able to talk to them about these feelings. And hope that getting back to school tomorrow is good for you as well 😊
