Navigating Change: Strategies for Prioritising Self Care

Hey everyone,

I just wanted to share that recently there have been a lot of changes happening in my life. With everything happening all at once, it has certainly been a little overwhelming, to say the least.

But through this process, I’ve realised how important it is to appreciate ourselves and prioritise our mental health. Change can be tough, but it’s also a good reminder to take a step back and care for ourselves, especially when things feel out of control.

Here are a few strategies that have helped me through this time, and I hope they might help someone else too:

  1. Practice Self-Compassion: I’ve started being kinder to myself and when things don't work out, I try to remind myself that I’m doing my best, and that’s enough.

  2. Take Breaks When Needed: I’ve learned that sometimes it’s okay to pause. Taking a short walk or diverting myself from the activity and focusing on a hobby instead can help my mind and body reset.

  3. Connect with Loved Ones: Sometimes when things get tough reaching out to a friend or family member for a quick chat can help reduce the burden and help ease the weight I may be feeling.

I know everyone’s journey is different, but I wanted to share in case anyone else is going through something similar. It’s important to remember that it’s okay to not be okay sometimes, and self-care is key to navigating life’s ups and downs.

Take care of yourselves, everyone 💙

Hi @Friendlyhelper,

I think this is such an important post. 💚

I agree, it can be challenging to find the time to take care of ourselves when there’s so much going on around us.

I especially connect with your suggestion around taking breaks when needed. I find it hard to maintain a healthy work-life balance at times and find that taking a step back to reset allows me to come back more focused and grounded.

All in all, thank you for sharing your perspective and I admire your determination to continue prioritising your well-being!

Welcome back!
