TW. Get body shamed online and at school what can i do

People have been bullying me and it only started recently,  more people are starting to join the bullying no one has helped me or asked if im ok teachers ignore me as I plead for help it is as if no one can hear me. I started to become a higher weight when lock down started as I has much more time to eat and I couldn’t go outside as covid was roaming around and gyms were closed. When I made a social media account the people from school instantly knew it was me and started spamming hate too me they made countless accounts to bully me they called me names. I love eating food and cant stop eating or I would always feel hungry

Hi there, I am so sorry for what you have been through! It must been so hard and frustrating! I just want you to know that none of what happen is your faulty, there will be people around us who will view others through a coloured lense, who will be judgemental. But what you can do is talk to your parents first, let them know what you have been through. Also there are help line available that protects your privacy! Hope things works out for you! 🙂

Hi @zhen , welcome to the ReachOut forums, we are really glad to have you here. I am so sorry to hear about what you have been going through. Bullying can be incredibely isolating and emotionally draining to deal with. If you feel up to reading, we have these articles on coping with bullying here and here that might be useful for you.

Body-shaming is never okay. No one should be expected to look a certain way, and there's no such thing as 'perfect' or 'normal'. Though I understand  that sometimes it isn't easy to think negatively about yourself.

Dealing with concerns around body image can be really tough to cope with. Have you got a trusted adult who you can speak to about this, like a family member or professional support person? The Butterfly Foundation offer some support and resources with this that could be helpful for you.

You mentioned that your teachers have ignored you when you ask for help. Have you had the chance to speak to any of your teacher about what has been happening? Are your parents aware of the bullying?

Welcome back!
