I wanted to check in and see how you are going this evening. How was the call to kids helpline?
I really vibe with your perspective of understanding what your triggers are and trying to disassociate shame from your mental/physical processes with uncomfortable content.
I can certainly relate as being a child of the internet and being exposed to a lot of awful content throughout the years. Having to deal with the conflicting emotions and feelings that arise from such things is exhausting. Often when we are exposed to something we have not encountered before, our brains don’t have an automatic playbook of how we should react to things. So, it can take some time for us to process what we have seen and how we actually feel about it, which can often be opposed to our initial reaction.
