Hi @Iona-RO

Thank you so much for replying, you've hit the nail on the head in terms of the kind of help I was after. Glad that Long Messages isn't a problem and I like that term 'Iona message'. 😄 That's funny.

Glad you understand where I'm coming from and the way you put things makes sense for me. The tackling it from the perspective of someone is a great idea as it might help put a positive voice in my head. I'm always wanting to be helpful and supportive to people I care about so maybe if I tackle it as like you said, flip the script, and look after myself then it might make a difference. I'm willing to try tackle any sort of advice given to me to help get better.

Yeah, my book is amazing and giving myself permission to mess up because we're all human does sound good as well as the idea of attributing the creases to something positive. It does make sense how you put it. Actually on the day the crease happened it was the same day as when Mum and I sat down and had a serious talk. It was a couple of days after the exhibtion. I was able to tell her all the things I had kept to myself that I was worried she would be made at and the fact I had a regular counsellor on Kid's Helpline who I make regular contact with. She was very understanding and compassionate which made me feel so better. Now there's nothing hidden between us and I was so happy I was able to talk to her about it. So that can be a positive reminder of that close moment I had with my mum. Some can be applied when I accidentally got a dent on my skateboard, it was during the last day I had of a holiday break where I had the house to myself for a bit and I was able to really relax. So yeah that's a good way of thinking and turning that around into a positive thing.

And the YouTube zone out is a sign that my mind needs a break makes sense too. I think I would be very motivated to do things like skateboard, playing games and binge watching my favourite shows too if I knew I set time aside to do it. Balance is important so maybe if I gave equal pirority to do things I enjoy as well as things I need to get done, then it would give my brain the break it needs and maybe handle things even better.

Thank you so Much for your Iona. I think this will really help a lot and the way you explained really helps circumnavigate the OCD Mindset in the way I can move past it and feel better about myself. ^_^ Thank you!
