@HugoLee that's a huge thing to receive a diagnosis... I'm glad it's better than the doctors feared, but I imagine it must still be really confronting. How are you feeling about it?

Were the doctors able to give you any direction in terms of treatment or supports that might help?

I was so sorry to read about your mum's illness before, that must be so worrying. 💛
Caring has challenges at the best of times, but when you already have your own health issues to manage, it must be that much harder, especially when you're not getting enough support.

Do you think your mum's treatment team would be able to link you in with some other supports?

There are also organisations like Canteen that support young people when their parents have cancer if that's something that might interest you.

I totally agree with you that it can be tough to meet people IRL, especially since COVID as so much has moved online - it's also had a big impact for a lot people feeling anxious about meeting up in person.

I was wondering if you have any interests or hobbies that might be ways to open some doors to get to know likeminded people?
Sometimes things like signing up for a class at a community college, joining a club or doing some volunteering in an area you're interested in can be good ways to meet people who like similar things.

Have there been any places where you've met people before who you've connected with? Or are there any old friendships you might be interested in rekindling?

I noticed before that you mentioned that your older siblings are pretty supportive - do you get many opportunities to see them? I'm not sure if it's helpful, but another thing I was wondering is whether they might be people who could support you with meeting people? (Eg. maybe signing up for something with you as moral support if it's useful?)

I'm not sure if any of this is helpful, but I just wanted to say that we care about you and feel for you with all you're going through - we're here to listen and to support you in any way we can.
