I have spoken to my partner about it! A little bit after posting this I got the courage to and he was very nice about, he's very open and accepting about body stuff so the talk went okay. 

I have spoken to the GP and we were in the process of figuring out what was going on but the family got into a bit of a money shortage issue so I haven't been in a while, hopefully in the next few years I'll be able to go back.
