thank you for doing up this post @Philippa-RO , i had no idea these laws had been passed and this is such an important topic to share. i really hope that other states follow NSW's lead and introduce similiar laws.
getting consent is really important, and it's really useful to have suggestions of how to ask how the other person is feeling. i've personally found that asking for consent for something like holding hands or kissing is just as important as with sexual activity, because you can never know what a person likes or doesn't like without asking them. plus i've found that it can be reassuring for myself when the person responds with enthusiasm, as it means they really do want to be intimate with me. asking for consent benefits both you and the person you're with!
