Hey @-pringles-
Thanks for joining us on the forums tonight,
I'm so sorry to hear about your mother, I can imagine that would have been scary for everyone present. How is your mother doing at the moment?
I'm sorry your father responded that way. I would feel hurt by that response as well. I read in your post to Bre that your father is out tonight and you’re feeling hopeless about his situation. I know it might feel hopeless at the moment, but in your original post it sounded like he had a recent breakthrough. He was able to share that he does wish to quit smoking, drinking and gambling but isn't sure how. This could be taken as a sign of progress.
Do you feel like your father has made any effort to learn more about his addiction since your original post on the 23rd? If you were to call the helplines Bre has shared, they might be able to pass on some strategies that you could pass on to your father about his addiction and how to manage it.
I can hear how defeated you feel tonight, please remember to be kind to yourself. You can only do so much 💜
