Hi @louie_al3x , @Pho-RO has already provided some really great support and ways you might be able to bring this issue up with your mum. I really like the idea of posing it as a way to get experience rather than money. I know that convincing your parents of something can be really difficult and sometimes they just won't see your side of things. I wanted to suggest that maybe you could discuss with your mother about doing a 'trial period'. If she is worried about your grades, perhaps you can prove to her that you would be able to balance work and school. You might tell her that if working while studying isn't working by the end of term and your grades are getting worse, then you will quit your job. It might help her to trust you and your judgement.
