Hi Lakshana,
How are you doing today?
Thank you for your reply, I wanted to start off by saying how proud you should be of yourself! You can really see just how strong you are, the school environment isn’t always the easiest place to experience these feelings, I can only imagine how hard it must be. you should be proud of the way you’ve handled it so far and the steps you’ve taken – including reaching out on here for some support.
School is a place to learn, grow and be respected so to have to experience these issues must be really stressful. It is understandable to be feeling the way you are, and you are certainly not alone in feeling this way.
In your post you mentioned experiencing anxiety at school and I was wondering if you have noticed any sort of pattern of the anxiety I.e., is it worst at certain points of the day, or even if you speak to someone in particular?
I was wondering if you had any coping strategies or things that help you when you are feeling this way? Whether it be finding a safe place at school or talking to a friend. perhaps spending more time around positive energy could be beneficial to your wellbeing. I know we provided an article above on anxiety and was wondering if you had a chance to look through it yet? And if any of the techniques have been helpful? It even could help you in discovering your own techniques too.
I know you mentioned that there are school counsellors around, but you don’t know how to see them, i was wondering if maybe it’d be easier perhaps to see if you could talk to them via email, or you could ask a trusted teacher or school staff member on assistance with contacting the counsellor or helping with booking in a time to see them? It might be helpful to speak to them and maybe you could talk through some strategies or things to do when you are finding things difficult to manage at school. Do you think this could be helpful?
I also wanted to let you know that if you want to speak to someone one-on-one and would like some more support, you can book an appointment with a Kids Help Line (KHL) counsellor. They are available 24/7 online or over the phone and it is a free and confidential service.
I just wanted to acknowledge again how incredibly strong you are for taking the time and effort to reach out for support, it shows how strong you are! Please remember that the online community are all here to listen to you and support you the best we can.
I look to hearing from you soon.
All the best 🙂
