I can understand how hard it must be for you right now. I am an international student myself who used to live with a family. I really empahize with your feelings.
It is always a challenge to adapt to a new country, a new place and a new home. I want you to know that you are not alone in this. And even when things don't feel okay, I assure you that it will gradually be okay as you go.
As you said that making friends has been a really hard task, and I completely understand that. I myself had faced alot of difficulties before finding the right people. Volunteering and social events were something that helped me alot.
And believe me, sometimes you find the right people at places and times when you least expect them. I had literally met a person on the bus who was asking for directions and we became good friends afterwards.
The second thing that helped me was my family. Being virtually connected with my loved ones gave me a sense of belonging even amdist an unfamiliar environment. Even on the days you feel heavy, take out a few minute sto talk about some random topic. It makes a huge difference.
Thirdly, find something that you are pasisonate about. When I had shifted to Australia, it wasn't just the loss of loved ones,,but gradually due to the sudden shift in lifestyle, I began to feel like I was losing myself. Try to find a hobby that you had while in your home country. It might help in feeling a bit of familiarity.
I really hope the above helps a bit. Everyone has their own ways of finding peace amdist tensed situations, I really hope that you able to find yours too.
I want you remember that we will always be here for you throughout your 6 months contract. If you ever feel like something doesn't feel right, please feel free to reach out to us. We would be more than happy to chat .
