I have graduated from my first university course this year and commencing post-graduate study! Due to this, I've probably tried so many techniques and it is all trial and error. For myself the Pomodoro method works the best @Howl42 did a wonderful job of explaining it!

I think it is whatever works for you and it is a bit of trial and error, for a class i struggle with a lot more like mathematics or a statistics class i tend to handwrite my notes. Study skills are incredibly personal!
