I do hope that your application goes well, and that you are able to get the job.

Yeah, chat box interview isn't the best for understanding the person accross the screen, especially when there is a time limit of the video interview. I too had to do a recorded video interview before, and trying to read off my notes and looking at the camera was weird.

As for tips for something to do while waiting, I would suggest to listening to relaxing asmr videos as it is a good way to feel more relaxed and to be able to sleep easier. I usually do this prior to going to sleep.
