I LOVE NIMONA!! Book and Movie!! They're both amazing for different and similar reasons. I used "I'm just Nimona(but my name)" all the time now when people ask me to explain my gender. Gender is something I don't subscribe to nor have the words for but am similatenously decorated with. Nimona has made me feel seen more than any other character. She's an icon I've seen sooooo many people speculate is genderfluid or labelless. For me she's always queer and her gender is beyond mortal meaning, just Nimona.
When I first watched it I was in a really dark place, I was where Nimona was. And after that everytime it got too much or I wanted to end things I would watch Nimona. I still do.
She helped me realise I don't owe people an explanation. Especially not people who's first reaction is to hurt or harrass me just for being me.
She means the world to me.
