Hey @No_eye_dear,
If you don’t mind me providing my own insight at the moment ( until @Olive1 makes a reply), from my personal experience, I have had friends which are not very accustomed with being empathetic.
And I feel like it’s personally fine if you are not able to be empathetic and sympathetic at times, but I do feel that your love for mother and to mitigate her grief does show you wanted her to feel better, and showed that you cared.
So I feel like it’s alright and I feel that you have a lot of ways in which you can show support as well, and that could be through respect and kindness as well, as I think people personally have different ways of going about their expressions.
So I feel like it’s just different, and I personally think you are able to care for people, albeit in different ways
Hope this helps and please don’t hesitate to ask for more support if you need it ☺️
