Hi Green_Ghost ❤️
I am so so sorry to hear about the loss of your cat. Losing a pet is devestating, so it's completely understandable to be sad right now. Having to make that choice is very hard but as you said, it was for the best.
When I lost my cat, I was very lucky to have friends who knew how awful it was for me, and understood it was like losing a family member. My advice to you would be that it's okay not to be okay! Just because it's an animal does not make the pain any less. Allow yourself time to grieve. This reachout article actually applies fo many types of grief and may be useful: https://au.reachout.com/challenges-and-coping/grief-and-loss/working-through-grief
Another thing I find eases it a little is always remembering them. While I acknowledge they are no longer with me, allowing myself to talk about them, thinking about memories I shared with them, looking at old photos/videos whenever I miss them makes me feel a bit more at ease rather than trying to move on and forget, which we should never be expected to do. Feel free to share any pictures you have or tell me more about what your cat was like. What was their name? 🩵
