Hi @Bearded_Dragon , i'm so sorry this, it sounds like you're going through a lot at the moment.

It's great that you reached out to your school counsellor! It takes so much courage to actually reach out in person for help, and you should be really proud of yourself for doing this. I read your other post about struggling with self-care and reaching out for help is definitely a great way that you can care for yourself.

It sounds like there's lots of challenging things happening in your life at the moment, both at school, as well as at home. I've struggled a lot with depression in the past year in particular, and i'm very familiar with the ways in which mental illness can feel like it puts strain on your relationships. Although i'm neurotypical, I myself have found that verbal and social communication gets really tricky when I'm depressed, so I definitely relate to the types of feelings you describe 💛

You mention in particular challenges in your relationship with your mum. I can understand that it would be really hurtful for her to react in these ways when you are struggling so much. Parents are meant to be support figures and it's really disheartening and upsetting when it feels like they are not there for you in the ways that you need. This is especially true given that it sounds like you've been really vulnerable with your parents about how much you are struggling at the moment.

I'm sending lots of care your way 💜
