Hey @codos

Firstly, I am very proud of you for coming on here and sharing what has been happening for you.

I also just want to say that I resonate with some of your experience, more so trying to find the right therapist to work with and the draining process of having to share your story over and over again to each new therapist.

It can be so hard trying to find a good therapist, especially after developing such a strong connection with your previous therapist for 4 years; that's a very long time!

Costs, availability, accessibility, and how easily you feel comfortable/connected to a therapist are certainly important considerations to make. I also worry about how inclusive the therapist/practice is being someone who is a part of the LGBTQIA+ Community. But that's why it's important to research different therapists/practices, I know some places offer a short introductory session to get to know the therapist and discuss what you'd like to get out of sessions etc; it's a perfect opportunity to see if you feel comfortable with them.

I understand that it can be so hard having to essential rebuild your life, it can be a very daunting process. But it's so important to make sure we practice self care while we search and experiment with different therapists, and also it's absolutely okay if you don't click with a therapist, you just need to keep searching.

I can't tell you how many therapists/counsellors I've tried to see over the years but didn't click with, it wasn't until early this year that I finally found a counsellor just for me via a FB advert.

These things take time, and it can be a really hard process, but I am sure you will find a therapist just for you.
