Hey @Green_Ghost
I can absolutely understand this, I only have two months left in my degree and my manager is making it increasingly difficult to push out until I can get a job in counselling and mental health!
I am either rostered on too much or too little, finding myself reminding my manager that I have a minimum hours a week as a permanent part time employee. Older employees especially managers will not hesitate in reminding you they are your boss, micro manage constantly and never actually do their job making you pick up the slack.
My tips after coping with this...
- act busy while she's around even the smallest and most meaningless task
- exaggerate your smile and interactions - kill them with kindness
- interact more and bond more with other employees. The other employees are likely in the same position. My co-workers saved me from losing it some days, finding the people you work well with can be a saving grace.
- as hard as it may be maybe bring up how you feel with her, even if it is just in a subtle way. Addressing your emotions may improve her outlook on you. Planning what you need to say beforehand and address the situation.
