I think it's incredibly strange how lots of people are able to extend so much empathy to those around them, while simultaneously holding themselves to impossibly high standards! You're right, we should all be our own best friends.
I also love to flip this one around and use it on my loved ones too! Whenever I hear a friend engage in negative self-talk, my favourite thing to tell them is "hey, I don't appreciate you talking about my friend that way" 😂. It totally helps people to reframe their own experiences and feelings in a new way.
