if it makes you feel any better I used the letter method for the first time a few weeks ago and almost chickened out. I was stressing all dinner, handed it to my parents telling me I wrote a letter I would like them to read with my voice cracking and then instantly went to my room. It is scary, but it is easier then sitting there and having a conversation for me.
I believe in you, you can do it! There is no harm in trying was what I thought at the end of the day.
And don't worry about the length. It doesn't mean anything. Just say what you want to say however big or small 🙂 I also ended mine with feel free to write a letter back or text me to try an initiate a non verbal communication system.
