Hey @Sherbert_Swan
Thank you for being vulnerable and sharing how you are feeling with us. It is great to see that you are looking after yourself and are aware that you need some support with this, and I want to let you know that you are not alone; many young people struggle with moving on from a relationship, including myself. I still remember my first relationship when I was 15, and it hurt to move on, so for a couple of months, I was not able to stop thinking about it. It takes time to heal and move on from a person you loved.
Regarding meeting new people, it can be hard to find your type of people nowadays. Those who don't value you and lose interest in you are not meant to be around you, and that can be a good thing because that means they are making room for people who are similar to you and will value you. During my high school years, I didn't have many friends, and those few I had were not for me, so naturally, our friendships fell apart. Now, I have met some wonderful people through work and tafe, with who we share interests and who have similar values.
It is very normal to feel the way you are feeling right now. I've been there, and it does pass. As they say, time heals.
Have you talked to anyone else about what you are going through at the moment? For example, family, siblings, or a counsellor who could support you.
Do you have any hobbies or activities you enjoy doing as self-care? That is an essential part of getting through hard times.
Headspace offers free one-on-one counselling for young people between the ages of 12 and 25, so I highly recommend you have a look if you are interested or need some extra support.
Reach Out also has some great article posts on dealing with break-ups and loneliness, which I will link below for you to read. Remember, take what resonates.
What to do when you feel lonely
I hope this helped a bit. We are all here to support you and listen to you, so feel free to come back anytime you think you need to talk to someone.
Please take care of yourself, and I look forward to hearing from you. Sending much love 💜
