Hi @XxfrankiexX

Firstly, I am proud of you for being so open and vulnerable about what you have been experiencing with us all here on ReachOut.

It really sounds like the symptoms you are describing are causing you quite a lot of distress, and I think it is absolutely worth discussing them with your therapist or even a GP. Your therapist likely has some knowledge of OCD, but as you said, it is out of her field of specialty. Perhaps your therapist, if she believes it is appropriate, could give you a referral to another practitioner who specialises in OCD.

I myself have experienced intrusive/unwanted thoughts in the past; these can be really distressing. The symptoms you have listed do lead me to think you may have OCD, but I am not a mental health professional; therefore, I cannot diagnose you. But again, if you talk to your therapist or a GP about this, I'm sure things can be figured out.

Have you brought these symptoms up with your boyfriend, family or even friends? If not, do you think you would be comfortable doing so? Getting their support can really help you through things. There is of course Kids Helpline and headspace available for further support as well; please know that you are not alone.

Something that helped me is separating my thoughts from my identity, or in other words, thinking "I am not my thoughts". Just because you have a "bad" thought does not mean you are a "bad" person. It's also important to remember intrusive thoughts don't always align with our beliefs, values and morals.

Make sure to practice self-care during this period of time too! Be extra kind and patient with yourself as well.

I hope this has helped a little bit.
