Hi @7pennies
I am so very proud of you for coming on here and sharing what has been happening with us all; I hope what myself and others have to say will provide you some comfort.
Being able to connect with other queer folk is very important for those within the LGBTQIA+ Community; it gives us a sense of belonging, and we feel truly seen, understood and listened to.
I was a closeted pansexual transmasc in high school (I did not feel safe enough to socially transition at the time, being in a regional town), and I didn't really know anyone who was also gender diverse; it was quite isolating. After I finished high school, I fully transitioned and have since made many new friends who are also a part of the LGBTQIA+ Community, many of whom I met online through groups.
I also want to say I totally understand the feeling of being left behind when you see your friends and other peers get partners in high school. I was too scared to date in high school, even though I did want to; I think my being closeted in both my gender identity and sexuality made me more anxious about even getting into a relationship.
Have you tried joining online queer groups? Or even in-person ones? Joining these are great ways to meet new people 😊
