Hey @Orange_Hare,
thanks for reaching out and welcome to the community!
It's really understandable you're feeling lonely and missing your family back home. Loneliness is something many international students can struggle with and I hope it helps to know you're not alone in feeling this way.
Leaving your hometown and travelling overseas to study would be a huge adjustment and can take a lot of strength, and I want to commend you on this strength and bravery it's inspiring to see 🙂
Being outgoing can be hard enough when you're introverted, but I imagine it would be even more difficult in an unfamiliar place. Making connections in a familiar place with people you've known your whole life can still be a challenging thing to do, you should be proud of yourself for all you've done and all the steps you've put in already. I want you to know that your only human and making connections an take time. The community is always here for you 🙂
I wonder if you've been able to stay in contact with your family back at home (e.g., through regular video calls) at all?
I want to provide with a link to an article ReachOut has on 11 helpful tips on what to do when you are feeling lonely, as as well as a link to PeerChat where you can speak to one of our Peer workers if you feel like you might want some 1 on 1 support.
Again i want you to know that the community is here for you for whatever you need and i look forward to hearing how your journey progresses 🙂
