Hey there @Orange_Hare ,
I'm sorry that it has been difficult adjusting to life here, living in a completely different country is incredibly tough so I applaud you for taking risks and trying something different with your learning!

I am not an international student in Australia however I also found it really hard to make friends at university. I only just started making propoer uni friends in my second/third year! It's really hard to build connections in a completely new environment so you are completely valid in feeling alone or upset. The way I made friends at university was actually getting more invovled with the university itself. This can include (but is not limited to) joining clubs and societies at your university or even volunteering to help out on open days/orientation days. I also think connecting with other international students (if you can) is a good idea since then you can navigate the university and experience Australia for the first time together. @Figuring_out 's reponse also has some amazing ways to make friends at univeristy as well as building confidence in speaking English.

In regards to the homesickness, is there anyway you can contact your family and friends back at home? Talking to them about how you're feeling may help ease the homesickness and they can support you (from afar). I also find that cooking things from where you're from is also a nice way to help homesickness. I was born in Australia but I am half Filipino, so whenever I miss the Philippines I always try to cook something from there to help me feel like I am back over there (mentally anyway).

I hope things start turning up soon and don't forget to practise self-care!
