Hey all I'm doing my year twelve exams and my second one is Monday its worth 30% of my whole years grade and I'm kind of scared!
BUT
YOU
KNOW WHAT I WILL AND SO WILL YOU SURVIVE!
Exams are stressful and overwhelming but once its over we will be all okay, in between exam prep remember to get fresh air, clear your head, get a great nice sleep and exercise for a little bit too! Look after yourself and you will be in the best place to get the results you want!!

Hey there,
Welcome to Reach Out.
I would really recommend that you give the guidelines a read, if you haven't already. They are there so we can all stay safe on these forums. Check them out here: http://forums.au.reachout.com/t5/Welcome-and-Announcements/Forum-amp-Commenting-Guidelines/m-p/16#U...
I am so sorry to hear that you have been having those problems. However, it's really important that you keep yourself safe. Do you have a support network who you can contact when things are bad? A counsellor, a doctor? There are ALWAYS people out there who are willing to listen, sometimes we just need to make the first step in asking for help. Are you at school? Do you have a school counsellor?
Another couple of resources I'd really recommend is Kids Help Line (1800 551 800) http://www.kidshelpline.com.au - their phone service is available 24/7 and they also have online counselling (it's just like talking on MSN to a counsellor!). There is also eheadspace, which is another great service - check them out here: http://www.eheadspace.org.au .
If you haven't already, I'd also recommend checking out this factsheet on the ReachOut.com website: http://au.reachout.com/Factsheets/B/Building-better-coping-skills and some of these stories might be helpful too: http://au.reachout.com/Tough-Times/Somethings-not-right/Angry-sad-or-depressed
I look forward to seeing you around the forums!
Take care of yourself - us at ReachOut.com care!

Hey there , congrats on coming to REACH OUT.COM and seeking help!!!
I would look at some of the fact sheets but also really talking about these issues and how to resolve them with a psychologist or a counsellor is a sensible approach, but to quote the popular sports brand ->
'IMPOSSIBLE IS NOTHING'
Please don't give up and we will support you through this :)

THUS
SIMPLY I AM OVERWHELMED
I would like to ask for advice, yes I know a youth ambassador asking for help, well we aren't perfect and just like the rest of you we have our tough times and stuggles too! So please help if you can :)

The best thing to do is to:
1) ask questions
2) listen
3) ask more questions
4) HANG IN THERE!

Try to breathe or enercise before and or after, exercise clears your head and allows you time to think, it calms you down and exhausts you, thus no time for overthinking or warrying yourself about what is to come :)
Hope this helps :)

Children need to be active and same with all ppl sport and physical exercise will help, get your daughter into a sport or an activity where she can express herself such as drawing or painting. This has worked for many people, be open and talk to her, don't condemn behaviour as such but work with her to help her through this time. :)
And ->
Welcome to the forums Just so you're aware, ReachOut is aimed at people aged 14-25, so it might be difficult to find information about younger people, like your daughter. We're not health professionals either. It's hard to know what to do when we can see that someone we love is struggling, but you sound like an incredibly caring and diligent mother to have picked up on these behaviours and started reaching out for help! Your daughter is lucky to have you.
If you're worried about the self harming behaviour continuing I'd definitely suggest talking to your GP about it - they might have some advice or even be able to ask their collegues or refer you on if need be. You could also try calling ParentLine (run by the same people who run Kids Helpline) - their number differs depending on where you're located, but you can find the state specific phone numbers here: http://www.kidshelp.com.au/grownups/getting-help/who-else-can-help/parentline.php . If you're not yet sure about seeing a doctor but are still looking for some ideas/advice, they're probably a good place to start.

Divert this thinking and take up exercise, eat to fuel your body and exercise as that releases endorphins and makes you feel good about yourself and so it should, exercise is great :) I recommend joining a team sport and make some friends through that process :) I'm doing my personal training course if you want to chat about healthy lifestyles :)

'Skin and bones' thats not a healthy aim, its not good for your insides, its not attractive either.
If you want to be healthy and fit, keep exercising but eat more, you need 5 meals a day to fire up your metabolism, make sure you eat lots of protein and carbs or your body will deteriorate. I'm doing my personal training course if you want to chat more about healthy lifestyles etc :)
Good Luck

Hey all
My 18th is coming up in few months and I need to get planning now. Problem is, I have no idea what to do about. I know what I can't do:
party aren't happening at my place
clubbing isn't my thing
I am cool with dress-ups but I have no venue in mind, some people just have dinner at restaurants, but which ones I am not sure coz I don't eat out much. I will like ideas like what you did in your previous parties no matter what age you were celebrating, just any ideas will be great!
Ready? SETTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT GOOOOOOO!!!!!
