Well, ideally I'd like to be able to Google a particular one of my email addresses (that I have since disassociated from my account here) without coming across my RO profile (blank or otherwise, if it references my user name in the google results then it still counts as 'coming across"). What would be the fastest way to achieve that?

My mistake about the page update - the page itself is updated but the search terms that lead to the page (removed from the update) remain present in the google results).

It was recently brought to my attention that I had a privacy leak between some of my online accounts. One of these issues is that a particular google search gets to my RO profile, and it appears to be a previous version because it hasn't been updated with recent changes I've made. I was wondering if anyone knows how long RO and RO profile pages take to be recrawled by google, and addionally if there's any benefit of being able to directly access profile pages through google without needing to be logged in.

I recently replayed Banjo Kazooie and played Banjo Tooie for the first time. Those were both pretty neat. :) Planning on replaying Ocarina of Time and trying out Majora's Mask. Definitely agree that Legend of Zelda is amazing. :D My gaming days peaked with the N64 and Runescape, and nothing's really captured my attention since Guild Wars so I'm really only play anything casually now. For super-casual games, I quite like Snakes on a Cartesian Plane.

If it's winter and at night, I go stand in front of the heater to warm up as a procrastination tool :P Otherwise play guitar, walk around the house, bake, look up recipes that I probably won't end up trying (eg. how to make feta cheese, when I have some bought cheese in the fridge), and watch catchup TV.

Cassie - That's awesome that you're not letting it get in the way. Thanks for sharing that, and congrats on doing that speech! :) I have social anxiety as well, and my main problem is not wanting to be judged. It particularly comes up in employment situations, like looking for work and everything that comes with that, and on-the-job stuff. But it's also meant that I don't have experience with a lot of things like going shopping on my own, hairdressers, making appointments etc. At the moment, I think I need to do more to try and overcome it.

Social anxiety is explained really well on the RO fact sheet, and it's actually the most common anxiety disorder. It's something that affects different people in different ways, even though the main theme is feeling anxious about a social situation. Some people have different triggers to other people, so what one person finds difficult, another person might not have a problem with. The important thing is that a person suffering from social anxiety needs to work on the things that are difficult for them. Does anyone have any experiences with social anxiety that they'd like to share?

Something that helped me to not procrastinate as much was going to uni early and getting something done before class - if I had a 9am lecture, I'd try to get there by 8:30 and do half an hour of stuff, if my first lecture was 11am I'd try to get there by 10. Staying later after class was sometimes useful too. Even that wasn't foolproof, because I'd often avoid the subject that I should've been working on and worked on a different one instead :P But I work better in the mornings and never want to do anything but slack off after getting home, so it helped a bit.

Yeah, I agree that there were other options available to him, but I sort of understand that it seemed like an easy escape for him and maybe he wasn't aware of other options or was feeling like they wouldn't help. He hasn't used it in a few years now, because he's not with the same crowd of people, and because he's more interested in being healthy. I'm just glad that he managed to stay relatively safe when he was using it, and that it didn't have any lasting effect on him.

JustThatGirl - That's a really good point, thanks :) I've got a lot of options to discuss with my doc. :) I hadn't thought about the size of the pill possibly making it easier. Lex - Nope, we don't mind. Comment away! :D That's great that you're aware of the different pills and other contraceptive options, and hopefully the girls you've spoken to decided to find out about them as well. You're right, it's important for both people involved to make sure they're protected and understand their responsibilities. It's a good discussion to have with any sexual partner to make sure both people are clear on the protection they're going to be using so there's no room for misunderstanding. As an aside, I ended up watching Knocked Up, and it started off with a misunderstanding about what contraceptives the two people were using. The misunderstanding occurred because the two people didn't adequately discuss it and made their own assumptions in the heat of the moment. Then the rest of the movie was about how they'd then take responsibility for their actions, even though they didn't mean for it to happen. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on Juno and abortions. It seems like it would be a tough decision to make either way, and people would really have to weigh it up based on their own personal situation and beliefs.

I think it seems really useful, and it's great that it has all that info on location/fees/referral etc. The only thing would be raising awareness about the site, because otherwise most people would just use a regular search engine if they didn't know about this.

@Cassie - I always ended up doing that too! I had to make sure all other tabs were closed and promise myself time to do something fun as soon as the lecture ended so that I could concentrate on it rather than getting distracted. (I only ever had the one subject with online lectures... I can't imagine what I'd have been like if more subjects did that!)

Yeah, I've actually got a similar problem too, with finishing my degree and trying to sort out what to do and how to organise my life into how I'd like it to be. I'm still struggling with it, especially since a big part of my problem is something that I can't really talk to anyone about.

Hey :) I think this is something that a lot of people face, whether it's because of finishing a part of their lives or just in general. I'm a member of a different website where this sort of thing is discussed lots, because there are heaps of people who feel disconnected from society and are lonely because of it. On social media websites, people have the pressure to have hundreds of "friends" or "followers" because that's what popular people have. And there's constant updates on what other people are doing with their lives - photos of fun times that they're having, status updates about where they are, who they're with, or busy things in their lives. Websites like that are also a place where lots of people make their social plans, because all the people they know and want to spend time with are easily contactable in the one place. I think it's important to know that people put things on their social media pages that they want other people to see and that they think will be exciting. I could very well put "Went to the living room to find a blue pencil. Found it! with my mum" but I didn't because it's not something that sounds very social or interesting to anyone else. It was a great moment for me, but that's beside the point ;) But I think when it comes to the point where using social media is actually making you feel more lonely or is upsetting because of comparing yourself to others, it might be time to reconsider how you use it. There's lots of options - limit the time you spend on it, or check out whether you're spending lots of time looking through other people's pages/photos/friends etc., or even just change some of the settings or un-friend or block people if you're having a problem with them specifically. I've actually hidden updates from certain people on Facebook, because I was finding that having constant reminders about their lives was unhelpful for me for various reasons - there's heaps of options for it, like hide all, or only show important updates.
