Great idea @Saltwaterdreamtime! A good way to keep track of the week. What is one thing you are looking forward to this week? Swimming! I just started swimming again and I'm really enjoying the challenge, the coolness of the pool from the heat and just having some dedicated 'me' time. - What is something thing that will challenge you this week? How will you overcome this? Job applications! I feel like I'm being rejected left and right, so it's difficult to keep motivating myself to apply, but I know it's just something i have to keep at. - Looking back on the previous week is there something you might do different this week? Why? I think I will definitely try to be more productive and just like you, put my phone down and just focus on my goals. I have a lot of things planned this year and when there isn't a definite deadline sometimes it's difficult to follow through and finish them.

Hey @heyitsbea, I understand completely what you're going through. I used to put a lot of pressure on myself and always strove for perfection. Try not to worry about others' (teachers and parents) expectations, as the ones for yourself are always harder to live up to. It's great that you're driven, but it can be exhausting and stressful. What I did was try and put those qualities into a more enjoyable, relaxing activity - for me it was piano, drawing and reading. It still feels like an accomplishment - you're building skills!! - but it's not being graded, can de-stress you and is fun. Maybe try something like that? Hopefully it helps!

Hope starting Year 12 was good! I graduated in 2015 and it was one of the greater years of high school cause you can be friends with your teachers and you can feel your grade really coming together this year since you're all going through this massive shift. My advice, alongside the others, is to make the most of this year. Take up teachers' offers on helping you out, join study groups, stay back after school and study with your friends, take breaks together. Year 12 is a great year to make the most of your time left in high school

Hey @Lonelyboy17 I'm really sorry to hear your friend is ignoring you. I've been in your position and it's not great. Sometimes these things happen during school, but I agree that confronting him might be your best bet (if you're comfortable enough to do that). I hope your talk with your friend goes well!

Ah ok, I see. Well I'm glad you've reached out to others and you're taking the steps to get better. I'm really sorry that this constant feeling of doom is hanging around you. I'm sure with the right psychologist it will get better. I know it's really difficult right now, and that really sucks, but just hang in there!

@Brandon8112, I'm so sorry to hear that you're going through this, I know it must be tough, especially since it seems as though you're losing a lot of sleep over this. You said that you were recently diagnosed, is this your GP/Psychiatrist/Psychologist? Have they offered any ways to help you in dealing with your anxiety? You also mention your dad having a similar condition, are you comfortable talking about it with him? Maybe, since he has experience of living with anxiety and panic attacks, he can offer you some advice?

@Beautifullybroken, it's good you've reached out to your parents about it, sorry that they feel unsure about how to help you. I understand that reaching out is anxiety inducing, and that's okay if you can't do it now - it's important to do things at your own pace as well. As @Taylor-RO said, it's important to be able to open up about these things to your GP and psychiatrist, do you not feel comfortable enough with them to talk about it?

Hey @Eden1717, I'm so sorry you're going through such a difficult time, and have been for however long you've had to deal with this. Mental health is costly, difficult and exhausting - thanks for feeling comfortable enough to rant here. But you know what, I know that it hasn't worked out in the best ways, but good job on persevering, on hanging on and searching through every avenue to get your mental health on track. Hey @Beautifullybroken, I completely understand where you're coming from. Sometimes it feels as though everyone is so distant and while you feel lonely, reaching out can seem scary, bothersome or intrusive. Know that you are not alone in feeling this way and that while talking about it can be uncomfortable, it is important. Those around you may not realise you're feeling this way. I was feeling this way a lot this year, but my closest friends didn't know to give support because they didn't know how I was feeling and assumed I was fine. Things definitely got better once I spoke up, despite how worried I was about saying something. Is there anyone you trust that you'd be comfortable expressing this to?
