How to help someone?

One of my friends came out to me recently about possibly being trans. I am the only person they have ever told, and i'm really supportive of them and happy they told me. Currently, I'm just wondering if there are things I don't know about in the way of supporting them? I'm doing my best, but I really want to make them feel comfortable, and I think I'm doing a decently good job. However, I am relatively new to the gender side of the LGBTQIA+ community, and I'm a bit nervous I'll stuff up. Any tips for supporting people in my friend's situation?

Hi @Carli , it's amazing to hear how great of a friend you are and how you are trying your best to support them!

Sometimes I feel like it's perfectly fine to simply be there for a person, and be a safespace that they can openly talk to during times of trouble. I'm sure your cares and concerns have been well noticed by your friend, especially since they were happy to disclose their secret with you!

I think just by sticking by their side and listening to them when they feel the need to be heard will be more than appreciated by your friend.
